NSW Mid North Coast retired teacher spreading love with handcrafted tea-cosies SatSaturday 20 FebFebruary 2021 at 11:06pm Space to play or pause, M to mute, left and right arrows to seek, up and down arrows for volume. Watch 2 (ABC Mid North Coast: Emma Siossian) Share Print text only Cancel Surrounded by bushland and birdsong, 70-year-old Robyn Lauder relaxes on her back deck, knitting needles in hand. She's creating a bright, old-fashioned tea-cosy and says it's a calming process. "I always have the things handy and I just really enjoy making my little flowers and tea-cosies," she said. "It's very soothing, and if I feel a bit rattled about anything I'll just sit down and do some little flowers."
The most intense moment in this week’s The Equalizer centers around whether Robyn (Queen Latifah) will make it to her daughter Delilah’s (Laya DeLeon Hayes) performance in Times Square. This doesn’t mean the larger storyline dragged—far from it, but it reinforces that Robyn’s relationship with her family will remain the fulcrum of the series. “Glory” is a solid followup to the series pilot, expanding on what worked well previously and building momentum for future episodes. Procedurals can struggle with a reason why viewers should show up promptly for the next episode instead of just binging them all later on Netflix. “Glory” will make you want to see what happens next Sunday.
The sleeper Amazon Prime Video comedy 'Flack' exposes vile celebrity publicists FacebookTwitterEmail Rebecca Benson, Anna Paquin and Lydia Wilson in "Flack" on Amazon Prime Video.Pop Media Group In the year 2021, it is news to no one that celebrities do terrible things and that normal people do even worse things to become celebrities. But most people don’t typically see the professionals who clean up the mess, the crisis-managing publicists who pick the somber fonts for apology posts, manipulate the media narrative, and in the case of “Flack,” even fake sex tapes. “Flack” premiered on British TV station W in 2019, then hopped the pond to the Pop network and finally landed on a service normal people can watch in late January (Amazon Prime). Played by Anna Paquin, the main character Robyn is a U.S. ex-pat working in London as a morally bankrupt public relations agent. The six-episode dark “dramedy” shows PR agents as omnipotent spin-masters, willing to go to any lengths to repair their clients’ images or distract from controversies.
The latest reboot of The Equalizer is not just a gender-flipped update. It’s heartfelt and engaging, which has a lot to do with Queen Latifah, who’s a joy to watch.
