South koreas military earlier said the man went missing from a vessel near yeonpyeong island on monday, a day before he was spotted floating in the north waters of the yellow sea. They shot the man dead and burned his body. Officials said the north explained its troops fired more than ten shots as the man was trying to flee. The north also reportedly said its personnel didntt finthe mans body but burned the flotation material he used in accordance with covid19 guidelines.
