the courthouse. lisa rubin, catherine christian and caroline polisi. thank you all for being with us. in the meantime, ken, what can we expect from this hearing and remind us of the parameters of the current gag order. reporter: it prohibits former president trump from criticizing the prosecutor, special counsel jack smith and members of his team, court personnel and witnesses or potential witnesses in the case. it does not prohibit him from criticizing the justice department or the biden administration or saying that this entire prosecution is corrupt. but what the judge concludes is when former president trump makes specific attacks on individuals on social media, it s often the case that those individuals are then harassed and targeted by trump followers. that happened in the case of the judge herself, who was the target of a death threat after former president trump criticized her. so former president trump s lawyers are saying this is a violation of his first amendment
Statement affected the Legal Options were available to the bureau of reclamation. It would be a different case but are you able to say that would be reveal . Yes. If the determination were legally binding upon the epa, if it were closed the possibility of enforcement could be the enforcement action that was inconsistent with the terms of the jurisdictional determination, yes, we think that the jd would be judicial repeal the. I think its important to point out how far removed that is fun actual statute before us. Let me ask about how far removed it is. There is no such statute, that certainly is true but there is a memorandum of understanding between the army and the epa, and it says quote a specific determinations that i think that includes jurisdictional determination made pursuant to the terms of the memoranda of understanding will be bond on the government and represent the governments position and any subsequent federal action or litigation regarding the case. Actually say in the beer distributors pockets. It was public money that was supposed to go to promoting recycling but was instead winding up in the distributors pockets just because of an error in the way the law was constructed. They were very active in political campaigns and that loophole of what we knew about it for years and years and years was not corrected. My first term in the legislature in 2009 was the first year the legislature was publicly financed. I cant point to a direct correlation. But i think it was about two weeks after we were sworn in that we came in and corrected that loophole and those funds are returned to the public. And so thats a clear example of a special interest that had been able, to no pun intended, bottle up legislation. If you look at connecticuts record, particularly the last four years under governor malloy, weve really been a shining light for those of us in the Progressive Movement as a place where we can see policies that are folks elsewhere can o
Who would slow down testing in the middle of a vicious outbreak . I mean, texas just hit an alltime daily high in cases. In houston, the biggest city in the state, hospitals are near capacity. Theyre literally running out of beds. We have seen this happen before at other places without outbreaks. This chart of texas cases tells a story. They have an extremely serious outbreak right now, today. You can see it. And the one thing they really need is to step up testing to make sure that they are capturing transmission as quickly as they can to quarantine people so that it doesnt contain a rise. But instead, no, the president is cutting back. And the reason why is right there in front of all our faces. The president keeps telling us, he does not like testing because he thinks if you do not test, then you have fewer cases. When you do testing to that extent, youre going to find more people. You are going to find more cases. So i said to my people, slow the testing down, please. When you have
Wave into a blue ripple. Im going to explain. Plus, we begin with President Trump on the verge of a truly historic diplomatic triumph at his t tough talk appears to be paying off. The leaders of north and south korea agreed to remove all Nuclear Weapons from their country and work towards ending the state of war that has existed since 1953 truce. The president acknowledged there was much work to be done, but he sure sounded optimistic. A lot of good things are happening with respect to north korea, president obama told me when i had the one meeting with him, he said thats the most difficult thing you have. And honestly, i wish it was handled earlier, i wish it were handled byrl another administration years ago, im not just talking about president obama. I go back to any administration you want. Ea this should have been handled a long time ago. But we will handle it. We are handling it well. Is it time for trumps critics to concede that his tough rocket man talk made a difference here .
