London [UK], April 26 (ANI): UK Prime MinisterBoris Johnson and his foreign secretaryDominic Raab on Monday condemned the new one-year prison sentence that was issued by an Iranian court to UK-Iranian national Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe.
This comes after the 42-year-old UK-Iranian national was sentenced on charges of "propaganda activities against the regime," after serving a five-year term previously imposed on her in 2016, Sputnik reported while citing UK media.
"Iran's decision to sentence Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe to another year in prison is cruel, inhumane and wholly unjustified. She must be allowed to return to her family in the UK and we will continue to do all we can to get her home," Johnson tweeted.

Moscow [Russia], April 4 (ANI/Sputnik): UK Prime MinisterBoris Johnson said in an Easter message on Sunday that the country is going to see "brighter days ahead" after a "very tough" pandemic year.
This Sunday, Anglicans and Catholics celebrate Easter. Though churches are open, many Christians will not be able to mark their most important festival in the way that they would like, Johnson noted.
"This has been a very tough 12 months. But, as ever, the arrival of Easter brings with it new hope. And, this year more than ever, it brings the promise of brighter days ahead for us all. So stay safe, keep following the rules, and have a very happy Easter," he said.

London [UK], January 28 (ANI/Sputnik): UK Prime MinisterBoris Johnson on Wednesday expressed hope that the domestically-made vaccines against the coronavirus, such as that by AstraZeneca-Oxford, as well as those imported from abroad, would be effective.
"There's a pretty overwhelming consensus that they [vaccines], at least some of them, will work very well, and we certainly think that Pfizer and Oxford/AstraZeneca, as far as we can see, will work very well," Johnson said at a briefing when asked what the plan B was if the vaccines failed to curb the spread of the disease.
