two things can be correct. first of all, if it wasn't for the cops, we would be living in the wild wild west. but some of my critics have tried to say just because i support the cops i'm for unarmed black men getting killed and things like that, and that's really unfair. that's just really unfair. and i can deal with the criticism. like i say i'm going to always support the cops because we need them. that being said, i don't ever want any unarmed black men getting killed or being abused or anything like that. >> there was this horrific massacre in florida that sort of captivated the country. i come from chicago. there are communities that are killing fields every day. and, you know, you talked earlier about your grandmother being annie oakley. and you got famously pulled aside once with a gun in your car. >> i always carry my gun. >> you're not armed now? >> no, i'm not armed.

that a protest, if a protest doesn't create discomfort or kicks people off, then it fails. like this is the only way to get any action done is to upset the public. >> when i was protesting the war in vietnam, i laid down in the road and the guy ran over me. >> how did his car fare? >> not very well. but there is a legitimate form of protester. but what these people don't want to see is ferguson go off the dialogue. what you don't do is block highways for people trying to get a legitimate job. the worst part of it from my stand point thinking about ferguson, this kind of video is exactly the wrong thing to have if you want to have a discussion about what went on in ferguson. >> guess what? they should be arrested. get out of the way, they're creating a public safety issue, they're impeding traffic and they got to go, beat it. >> and they create incidents like this, that's not the man's

pretend it isn't an issue. if you talk to many cops on the beat around cities in the nation, you'll find many who say, yes, we need to improve relationships between police on the beat and people in communities particularly the communities of color. >> how is that -- i don't think anybody's going to give you a hard -- the relationship needs improving. but the question is where will the focuss be? will it be solely on the cops and their militarization and lack of body cameras? or will it also be on the communities to find out why is it the police in some instances don't trust these community sns or why don't they get more credit for protecting and patrolling the communities as charles barkley put it in his own words today. let me play the sound bite from him in our radio show. >> [ bleep ] who are looting, those aren't real black people. those are scum bags. we have to be really careful with the cops, man. because if it wasn't for the cops, we'd be living in the wild wild west in our neighborhoods.
