County Representative Visits The White House
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) - Each year, guests are welcomed to the Nations Capital to attend a White House Christmas Party. This year, one local representative was invited to attend.
“It was a once in a lifetime opportunity...not everybody gets to go to the White House.”
Representative Dustin White traveled to the White House prior to the Christmas holiday as a guest at the White House Christmas party.
“Traditionally the White House Christmas party is thrown by the President and the First Lady of the United States to kind of thank their donors and their campaign helpers over the previous campaigns and throughout the presidency. Sometimes they like to wiggle in some state legislators from around the country to try to give everybody an opportunity because they have an office of intergovernmental affairs. They work directly with us on legislation or bills on the national level that’s going to impact the state directly.”

Letlow outlines priorities once sworn-in as 5th District Congressman

Luke Letlow defeated state Rep. Lance Harris in Saturday’s run-off election to represent the 5th District of Louisiana in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Letlow, a Republican who previously served as U.S. Rep. Ralph Abraham’s chief of staff, received 62 percent of the vote, or 49,182 votes, according to the Secretary of State’s unofficial results published Saturday night. Harris, who is a Republican from Alexandria, received 38 percent of the vote, or 30,124 votes.
Abraham decided earlier this year not to seek re-election, opening up the vacancy in the House.
The Secretary of State estimated voter turnout reached 15 percent.

I meant to get to this yesterday but got sidetracked. In a year defined by relentless weirdness, behold one of the low-key weirdest moments of all — so weird, in fact, that some outraged MAGA fans insisted that it couldn’t be real. It must be a photoshop.
It isn’t, of course. It’s the real deal. But who can blame them in this case for being so incredulous about what they were seeing that a conspiracy theory seemed like the most plausible explanation?

ATLANTA—Bristling at his defeat in Georgia, President Donald Trump increasingly believes that Gov. Brian Kemp has not done enough to deliver him a victory or challenge the state’s election results. Now, sources close to the president—and Republicans in Georgia—say it is a foregone conclusion that Trump will help stand up a primary challenger to Kemp when the Republican is up for re-election in 2022.
“It’s a fait accompli,” said one veteran Trump political adviser.

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Governor Kemp and top state health officials are trying to build public confidence in COVID-19 vaccines.
Just last week, Governor Kemp and Dr. Kathleen Toomey were in Savannah as the first vaccines were given to health care professionals. The Governor told me today it’s his hope that by leading by example, medical leaders can quell apprehension some still might have when it comes to getting the vaccine when available.

Brian Kemp attends White House Christmas party despite Trump insults

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp faced a slew of social media criticism after he attended a White House Christmas party with his daughter on Friday, despite being repeatedly insulted by President Donald Trump in the weeks since the Nov. 3 election.
“Lucy and I had a great time at the @WhiteHouse Christmas Party today. Merry Christmas, everyone!" the Republican governor said in a tweet along with photos of the and his daughter at the event.
Kemp's decision to go to the party was met with surprise and mockery on social media, given that Trump has assailed the first-term governor for not doing more to help his effort to overturn President-elect Joe Biden's victory in Georgia. Since the election, Trump has called Kemp "hapless," a "fool," a "clown," a "RINO" (Republican in name only), one of the nation's worst governors, celebrated polls showing Kemp losing voters' support and declared him "finished as governor."

On Friday, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp tweeted images of himself and his daughter, Lucy, taking pictures amidst the lavish holiday decor at the White House.
Despite the festivities, Trump is still incensed with Kemp for not helping him overturn the presidential election results in Georgia, which saw President-elect Joe Biden capture the state by a little over 12,000 votes.
The governor posted the White House photo just hours after Trump questioned his conservative credentials, as well as those of GOP Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.
Despite President Donald Trump's withering attacks against Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp over certifying President-elect Joe Biden's presidential win in the state, his invitation to a White House Christmas party didn't get lost in the mail.
