The seventh annual Bay Area Book Festival, going all virtual for the second year in a row, launched its nine-day run on Saturday and is such a high-wattage affair, attendees may want to consider donning sunglasses to tune in.
The literary luminaries who will be featured include Nobel Prize laureate Kazuo Ishiguro, 2020 National Book Award winner Charles Yu, renowned journalist and China expert Orville Schell, 2020 Booker Prize winner Douglas Stuart, Pulitzer Prize winner (and former U.S. poet laureate) Tracy K. Smith and prolific (more than 100 books!) novelist Joyce Carol Oates.

Clipper Teas: Serve Climate Justice with Fairtrade Tea

Ethical and organic tea company, Clipper, is working with the Fairtrade Foundation to showcase the sustainable farming methods used on its tea estates that have a positive impact on people and the planet.
The theme of this year’s 'Fairtrade Fortnight' is climate justice. It will focus on how climate change affects farmers and how Fairtrade supports them to achieve long-term environmental sustainability.
And so, Clipper teas will be taking part in Fairtrade Fortnight’s free online Choose the World You Want festival of events and activities to entertain, educate and inspire, and highlight the harmful effect of the climate crisis on farmers and food supplies.
