“You need help!”
A lot more.
The Hall-of-Fame slugger and Yankees great has been sickened the last few years hearing and reading Schilling’s controversial opinions, which got the six-time All-Star pitcher fired from his ESPN Sunday Night Baseball analyst job in 2016 and has kept him from being elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame nine years in a row.
Introducing Yankees Insider:
Here’s a sample:
“I would say to Curt, ‘Look at what you did. You took yourself out of the Hall of Fame because of what you say and how to express yourself and how you think.’ Freedom of speech is great, but we can’t have a country with white supremacy, Nazis, Black Panthers, racist stuff and anti-Semitics. We can’t have people wearing swastikas because it’s a freedom of expression. Come on!”

Add the annual Baseball Hall of Fame induction watch to the very long list of things that don’t feel quite the same this year.
For starters, last year’s class of Derek Jeter, Canadian Larry Walker and Modern Era Committee electee Ted Simmons never got their day of speeches and sunglasses as the Hall of Fame announced in April they would postpone the 2020 induction ceremony to the following summer because of COVID-19. The 2021 induction ceremony is

Hank Aaron was one of the five best MLB players ever - Here's why he was even better than his 755 home runs

So much of Henry Aaron's baseball legacy is attached to three numbers -- 715, 755 and whatever Barry Bonds' career home run total ended up at -- that we too often overlook his all-around brilliance on the field. Put it this way: If you turned his 755 home runs into outs, he
still finished with more than 3,000 hits. Or another way: He played 23 major league seasons and was a 25-time All-Star (there were multiple All-Star Games early in Aaron's career).
Even though he is widely regarded as one of the top five players in MLB history, Aaron has remained underrated among the all-time greats. He played most of his career in the shadow of Willie Mays, his contemporary who was the more visually breathtaking player thanks to Mays' defense in center field. Many still consider Babe Ruth the greatest right fielder. So Aaron ranks merely as the second-best player of his generation

Colorado Rockies news: The case for retaining Germán Márquez—at all costs

What would the Rockies bullpen be without the biggest workhorse in the starting rotation?
Germán Márquez was the MLB leader in batters faced this year. The best way to help a bullpen could very well be to keep them
in the bullpen, which the Rockies can do with a starter working into the seventh. No Rockies starter has done it better than Márquez in recent years, averaging 6.10 innings per start since 2018.
Márquez’s figure is more than Kyle Freeland (5.50) and Jon Gray (5.64) over the past three years; Antonio Senzatela became an outright starter in 2019 and has averaged 5.35 innings per start since.

ESPN reportedly close to getting new opening round of MLB playoffs

ESPN reportedly close to getting new opening round of MLB playoffs
This seems likely to happen given how badly Rob Manfred wants it.
12/14/2020
In 2020, MLB implemented a new playoff format, which made sense in a season shortened by the pandemic.
Commissioner Rob Manfred, though, now wants to make that change permanent, and the league is reportedly making that a top priority for a new collective bargaining agreement (the current CBA runs through this season.) In any case, should the league indeed manage to convince the MLBPA, MLB will have a 14-team postseason with three best-of-three opening round series per league. And according to the New York Post’s Andrew Marchand and Joel Sherman, the new playoff round will have an exclusive television home: ESPN.
