Structure fire in Katherine

Date Time
Structure fire in Katherine
Northern Territory Police and NT Fire and Rescue Service are investigating a structure fire in Katherine that occurred yesterday afternoon.
Shortly before 2pm, a woman observed smoke coming from inside a cupboard in her residence on Maluka Road.
NT Police responded and ensured all occupants were evacuated safely from the house.
Fire crews extinguished the fire that had progressed rapidly, destroying the bedroom and living areas of the home.
It is understood two children had been playing with a lighter.
Chief Fire Officer Mark Spain said, “Sunday serves as a sobering reminder of how quickly structure fires can start and spread, as well as the importance of working smoke alarms. Police and Fire crews responded quickly and professionally, and luckily no one was injured”.

Worth It: heated towel racks - Afternoons

Download 3.00 MB
There's sponge gunge and packed plug holes, but damp, used towels are also a source of bacteria in the bathroom and the kind of fungi that causes athlete's foot can live on towels and even cause infections in cut or sensitive skin. So, if you don't want to wash your bathroom towels every single day, are heated towel racks the way to go, do they really do what they're supposed to do and are they really worth it?

New Jerseyans Relaxing Social Distancing Measures, New Survey Finds

Rutgers University
Residents report on adherence to public health recommendations like social distancing, mask wearing and handwashing
Katherine Ognyanova, an assistant professor at Rutgers University-New Brunswick’s School of Communication and Information, is the lead author of the new report.
New Jerseyans are relaxing some of their adherence to social distancing and public health recommendations, according to a new survey by researchers from Rutgers University-New Brunswick, Northeastern, Harvard and Northwestern universities.
The data, published by The COVID States Project, indicates that as COVID-19 case numbers decreased in 2021, behaviors like going to work, going to the gym, taking mass transit, handwashing or being in a room with people outside the home, relaxed.

David Foster's wife Katherine McPhee says 'we don't care' about 35-year age gap

American actress and singer Katherine McPhee gave a loud and clear message to the haters who seems too much worried about the 35-year age difference with her husband David Foster.
“For the most part, we really don’t care. [Foster] will say every once in a while, 'Eventually, we're just going to look normal to people,” the American Idol singer opened up about her marriage during an episode of the Informed Pregnancy Podcast.
“There’s such a stigma, I mean I get it, we all have the ability to label things and to look at something for the way that it looks or face value and go, I think, a judgement. I get the judgement initially, but things are never as they appear. Things are never exactly as they appear” she elaborated her point.
