Episode 5 of this monthly music program features âserial music collaboratorâ Caroline Keys of Missoula and a new band, Junior, which is becoming known for its sparse folk pop. They bring âlayered and tonal harmoniesâ to their originals, with a big sound for a small band. Members are Jenny Lynn on viola, violin, vocals; Hermina Jean, electric guitar, drums, vocals; and Keys, bass, guitar, banjo, vocals; with the amazing and highly acclaimed Eric Heywood on pedal steel.

Juniorâs Caroline Keys has affectionately been called a âserial musical collaboratorâ for her amazing ability to pop up in a dizzying array of bands. A couple of her previous bands, Stellarondo and The LaneSplitters, both got warm Helena receptions in recent years. In Junior -- (which, by the way, is named after a 12-year-old, âstinky but charming and cuteâ basset hound) -- Keys is on bass, guitar, banjo and vocals. Sheâs joined by Jenny Lynn on viola, violin, vocals; and Hermina Jean, electric guitar, drums, vocals. All three are songwriters.
