SAHA conducted a virtual groundbreaking Thursday for the new 100 Labor complex in partnership with Franklin Development. The new development — in the works for two decades — will create a master-planned community called Victoria Commons where the Victoria Courts public housing project once stood.
The multi-family units will offer affordable accommodations for downtown service-industry workers, SAHA officials said.

Can a church be both a micro church and a large church at the same time? If a few years ago you were to ask Tony and Felicity Dale, or read Felicity’s book Simply Church, or Neil Cole, author of Organic Church, or Wolfgang Simson and his book Houses that Change the World, they would’ve probably answered no.
However, while they’re all micro church advocates, they would probably acknowledge that the gravitational pull is still toward the large church.
Years ago, I facilitated a gathering of both megachurches and micro churches in Austin, Texas. Felicity Dale made it clear to everyone, “I'm not in competition.” Hill Country Bible Church, a local megachurch in Austin, was represented by its senior pastor, Tim Hawks. Tim and Felicity were really engaging as they dialogued. Felicity admitted (my paraphrase), “Our singing is really bad. There are 15 of us gathering in a room and we're really passionate about this, but then when I go to Tim’s church it's like literally being transported to heaven. The band's playing and people are really singing.”

Like many residents and visitors of Lake Tahoe, I have had the good fortune of running, hiking, swimming, skiing, dining, lodging and otherwise living in and around Lake Tahoe nearly all of my life. Preservation Trust Grant Buoys Northern Star Effort On Memphremagog

The Preservation Trust of Vermont has awarded Memphremagog Community Maritime (MCM) and the Northern Star a $50,000 community revitalization grant that will help preserve and support the activities of the Northern Star.
âWe have been working on this grant for over two years, and it has finally come to fruition,â said David Converse, board president of MCM.
âNewport is truly a special place,â stated Ben Doyle, president of the Preservation Trust of Vermont. âThis investment in the Northern Star recognizes the wonderful work community leaders have accomplished as they seek to âreturn to the lakeâ and leverage outdoor recreation assets for greater economic activity in the downtown. We look forward to seeing folks out on the water!â
