LOS ANGELES The word came in the morning, as Grace Cruz and her children gathered at the family home in Boyle Heights on Christmas Eve, 1943.
Her oldest son, Jacob, was dead.
A telegram from the United States Marines said the 18-year-old private was killed in action but divulged little else. The ongoing Pacific campaign meant Jacob would be buried in a temporary grave in the Tarawa Atoll, where he and more than 1,000 other Marines and sailors died fighting the Imperial Japanese Army.

First male recruits graduate recruit training from 4th Battalion > United States Marine Corps Flagship > News Display

PARRIS ISLAND, S.C.
On March 26, Papa Company, 4th Recruit Training Battalion completed recruit training with four male platoons and two female platoons; the first time ever that male recruits have graduated from the battalion.
During training the platoons were segregated by gender and maintained separate sleeping and bathing facilities inside of their respective squadbays. Training events conducted outside of the squad bay were conducted in a gender integrated environment.
Per the training order, platoons, both male and female, are the primary formation for initial training, and they progressively combine for larger training events as the program continues. This model enables appropriate acclimation to the training environment, development of relationships with drill instructors, and focus during the transformation of young women and men into United States Marines.

Lahren: Forced vaccines could be the latest in 'shifting propaganda campaign' of 'tyrants'

Tomi Lahren sounds off in latest Final Thoughts commentary on Fox Nation
A new report showing 40 percent of U.S. Marines have declined to get a coronavirus vaccine may be a hint that the left s continually changing narrative on coronavirus pandemic-related mandates might again change to further guarantee compliance claimed Fox Nation sTomi Lahren in her Final Thoughts on Monday.
A new report shows nearly 40% of our United States Marines have declined getting a COVID vaccine and guess what, that is every bit their right to refuse, she said. It’s plain as day the Democrats have been playing a very inconsistent game with their COVID messaging, protocols, and infringements.

How Good Is the Kimber Version of the Legendary 1911 Pistol?

How Good Is the Kimber Version of the Legendary 1911 Pistol?
There are many good 1911s out there and the one built by Kimber is among the finest.
Key point: Colt made its fame through the powerful and reliable 1911 pistol. That weapon has been around for over 100 years and new companies, such as Kimber, now make their own versions.
While it was Colt Firearms that produced the first of the John Moses Browning-designed M1911 .45 pistols, today the market leader in the category is Kimber. And it isn’t hard to see why, as the company has become known for building fine sporting firearms that are better than even the classics from the golden age of American firearms.

Regeneron Pharmaceuticals announced Monday that a Phase 3 trial of its antibody cocktail offered offered strong protection against Covid-19 for people living with someone infected with the coronavirus.
The treatment lessens the likelihood of infection and improves outcomes for those who do become infected, Regeneron said in a statement. The treatment also appears to be potent against emerging variants, the company said.
The data suggests the treatment can complement widespread vaccination strategies, particularly for those at high risk of infection, said Myron Cohen, M.D., who leads the monoclonal antibody efforts for the NIH-sponsored COVID Prevention Network.
