A council has said it looking at possible upgrades to public toilets in Sudbury - after the standard of the town's public conveniences were criticised.
Resident Marie Hearn even went as far to say the town's loos were an "absolute disgrace" and claimed they were "dirty" and "smelly".
In response, Babergh District Council - which works with Sudbury Town Council's community wardens to maintain the conveniences - said the toilets cleaned and monitored on a daily basis.

Where will tourists stay with motels full?
I understand how critical tourism has been to the New Zealand economy. So I, along with a large group of the country, are eager to see tourism return.
Businesses and large parts of the country depend on it.
In Hamilton on Ulster St we have several motels all full with Kiwis who are the victims of the housing crisis.
These are people in "emergency housing" with the number of people qualifying for it having risen sharply. The Government is spending $1 million a day on motels so it's not just the ones in Hamilton that are full.

Club celebrates a game that's accessible to all

FROM international competitors to a 91-year-old who still plays three days a week, the Queanbeyan Croquet Club proudly continues to celebrate the obscure, yet deeply historic game with an event on “World Croquet Day” (May 1).
Following the formation of the Canberra Club in 1928, croquet rolled on into Queanbeyan by 1934, charting its way from as far back as 13th Century France where the game is believed to have originated.
The first “court” on which the sport would be enjoyed in Queanbeyan was part of an old police paddock when the population of the town was still only a few thousand.

Not all equal
Correspondent Craig Clark (NZ Herald, January 18) has commented on how even though the US is a democracy, that it almost ended up with a dictator called Donald Trump.
However, he seems to be
assuming all democracies enjoy the same level of democracy. There are 75 democracies in the world, but only 22 of them are classified as full democracies and the US is not included as a full democracy.

Housing obligations
The investor who fears he won't be able to rent out all his properties (NZ Herald, January 11), is evidence that property investors should not be in the housing provision market.
