ఇంటర్నెట్‌డెస్క్‌: హాల్‌లో కూర్చుంటారు.. బెడ్‌రూమ్‌లో ఉన్న మొబైల్‌ ఛార్జర్‌ లేదా ఇతర వస్తువులేవో తెచ్చుకుందామని వెళ్తారు. బెడ్‌రూమ్‌ తలుపు దాటి లోపలికి వెళ్లగానే అసలు ఎందుకు వచ్చామన్న విషయం మరచిపోతుంటారు. ఇలాంటి అనుభవం మీకూ ఎదురయ్యే ఉంటుంది కదా! యూఎస్‌లోని నోట్రేడామ్‌ యూనివర్సిటీకి చెందిన శాస్త్రవేత్తలు 2011లో దీనిపై అధ్యయనం చేసి ‘డోర్‌వే ఎఫెక్ట్‌’ అని నామకరణం చేశారు. దీన్ని ‘లోకేషన్‌ అప్‌డేటింగ్‌ ఎఫెక్ట్‌’ అని కూడా పిలుస్తుంటారు. ఒక వ్యక్తి ఒక గది నుంచి మరో గదిలోకి అడుగుపెట్టినప్పుడు ముందు గదిలో ఉన్నప్పటి జ్ఞాపకాలను మెదడు చెరిపేస్తుందట. పడక గది, వంటగది, లివింగ్‌ రూమ్‌.. గదులకు సరిహద్దులు ఉండటం వల్లే ఇలా జరుగుతుందని శాస్త్రవేత్తలు వెల్లడించారు. కానీ, దీనికి గల కారణంపై ఎలాంటి స్పష్టత ఇవ్వలేదు. తాజాగా బీఎంసీ సైకాలజీ జర్నల్‌లో ‘డోర్‌వే ఎఫెక్ట్‌’కి గల కారణం ఓ అధ్యయనంలో బయటపడిందని పేర్కొన్నారు.
ఆస్ట్రేలియాలోని బాండ్‌ యూనివర్సిటీ నిర్వహించిన అధ్యయనంలో మెదడు తీవ్ర ఒత్తిడిలో ఉన్నప్పుడు మాత్రమే ‘డోర్‌వే ఎఫెక్ట్‌’ సంభవిస్తుందని వెల్లడైంది. మెదడు అనేక ఆలోచనలతో ఒత్తిడిలో ఉన్నప్పుడు వ్యక్తులు ఏదైనా తెచ్చుకోవడం కోసం ఒక గదిలోంచి మరో గదిలోకి వెళ్లగానే అసలు ఎందుకు వచ్చారో మర్చిపోతుంటారట. దీన్ని నిర్ధారించడం కోసం శాస్త్రవేత్తలు కొంతమందికి వర్చువల్‌గా కొన్ని 3డీ గదులను చూపించారు. మొదటి గదిలో ఉన్న వస్తువులను గుర్తుపెట్టుకొని రెండో గదిలోకి వెళ్లిన తర్వాత ముందు గదిలో ఉన్న వస్తువులను చెప్పమని అడిగారట. అయితే, ఈ ప్రయోగంలో పాల్గొన్నవారు అన్ని వస్తువులను గుర్తుపెట్టుకోవడంతో శాస్త్రవేత్తలు మరో ప్రయోగం చేశారు. గదుల్లో ఉండే వస్తువుల్ని గుర్తుపెట్టుకుంటూనే రివర్స్‌లో అంకెలు లెక్కపెట్టమని వారికి చెప్పారు. రివర్స్‌లో అంకెలు లెక్కపెట్టడం అంతా ఈజీ కాదు.. మెదడుకు పని పెరుగుతుంది. దీంతో వారి మెదడు అంకెలను రివర్స్‌లో లెక్కపెట్టడంలో నిమగ్నమై వస్తువులను గుర్తుపెట్టుకోవడంలో విఫలమైంది. దీన్ని బట్టి.. మెదడు అనేక ఆలోచనలతో ఉన్నప్పుడు ‘డోర్‌వే ఎఫెక్ట్‌’ సంభవిస్తుందని కనుగొన్నారు. మీరేదైనా కావాలనుకొని గదిలోకి వెళ్తున్నప్పుడు కేవలం ఆ ఒక్క ఆలోచనతోనే ఉంటే ఈ ఎఫెక్ట్‌ ఎదురయ్యే అవకాశమే లేదని శాస్త్రవేత్తలు స్పష్టం చేస్తున్నారు. అంతేకాదు, గత పరిశోధనలో చెప్పినట్లు కేవలం గదుల మధ్య సరిహద్దే కాదు.. గదుల్లోని వాతావరణం కూడా డోర్‌వే ఎఫెక్ట్‌కు కారణమవుతుందని తెలిపారు.
