Hours later, his first official acts showed he won’t attempt any consensus around the policies of his predecessor. In a whirlwind of executive orders, agency directives and legislative proposals starting on his first day in office and expected to extend through the coming weeks, Biden aimed to quickly reverse the Trump administration’s approach to immigration and discrimination, climate and energy, the economy and the pandemic. That’s as it should be: There’s no future in the former president’s agenda.
