the tiki bar. >> i have not been to that one. the one on the other side i have been to. >> palm trees in baltimore. >> great place to be, on the water, because it is hot. it is summertime, the and we are feeling it. temperature-wise today so far we've gotten up to 94 degrees. the thing is, the average subpoena to 88 degrees. we've been above it for so long that we lose some perspective. the record is 10 1, not quite there. we started out at 74. coming in at 94 right now. a lot of low 90s around the region. when you factor in those dew points in the 60 it feels like upper 90s for a lot of us. to get any relief you have to go out to the mountains. 83 in oakland. the winds have turned to the southwest. it's that southwesterly wind that's really keeping all of this in place and is going to for the next few days. we're sort of locked into a weather pattern that's not going to change all that much. we have the main storm track off to our north. there are some isolated rounds of thunderstorms off to the south of us because there are some leftover boundaries that are sitting in the heat, so they fire up the thunderstorms. the main storm track subpoena in this area. so with it off to the north it has locked up all of the cool air, and we stay on the hot side of things. so there's still that stalled out boundary to the south which will give way to scattered showers and thunderstorms each and every afternoon, but notice the main storm track pushes off to the north. we will see it start to change later next week, but until then our best chances for showers and thunderstorms are going to be tuesday, wednesday, and thursday afternoon, as we head through the forecast here. but in this kind of heat, wouldn't be surprised if something popped up each and every afternoon. so when we look at the middle part of the week, here's that storm track off to the north. cool air locked up north of it allowing all of that meet to pump up from the south. with that heat around and the moisture in the air there is that chance daily for pop-up showers and thunderstorms with our best chance being with a couple different storm systems. so on the waters, bay temperature now up to 83, winds out of the west at 5 to 10 knots. tonight we're going down into the 70s. it's a warm one out there. tomorrow, up to 94 degrees. there's a slight chance for a late-day shower or thunderstorm but most of the day is going to be dry. then we see increased chances for the following days after that. as the storm system is passing off to the north of us. but even as we head into thursday not much relief. we go back up to 94 degrees and still can't rule out a shower or thunderstorm to pop up. adam. >> never ending, bern. next in sports, we're previewing the action at camden yards. home game coming up at 7:00. stan will have a preview coming up next. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, we just had that story about camden yards, one of the best ball parks in the country. if the team could just get on that list it. >> good news, i would say optimistic news that could bring good results. orioles hoping to straighten up and fly right following a tremendously disappointing first half of the season. now brain roberts, the second baseman, could return from his three-month stay on the disabled list due to back problems and pneumonia as soon as next weekend. we'll let you know. but there's nothing like a 10- game homestand to start things off right. starting with toronto last night. starting pitcher brad berge facing a toronto team that has more home runs in the major leagues than anybody else. aaron hill adding to that total. 3rd inning, contact. good connection off bear gee son. jays' pitcher only allowed a couple of home runs, and he struck out five. julio lugo, the final out, the o's 8th strikeout of the game. the winning streak ends. it was four straight before then, but they fall to the blue jays last night, 4-2. >> you don't want to fall behind early, because they look for a pitch in an area, and when we had some success here of late, our pitchers are challenging hitters and throw a lot of strikes. the pace of the game was very quick, very good. keep the defense on their toes, and good results have come. >> this reminder, masn on wjz this weekend, the orioles continue their sear wrest toronto tonight at 7:00. tomorrow afternoon at 1:30, both games live right here on wjz.
