President
Joe Biden and Gov.
Ron DeSantis may not like each other, but they have one thing in common: Solid approval among Florida voters.
A new poll from bipartisan firm RABA Research found the state’s top elected official and the Commander in Chief both have approval ratings in the positive by double-digits.
DeSantis, midway through his first term, has the approval of 56% of voters compared to 42% who disapprove, giving him a plus-14 favorability rating. Biden, who’s wrapping up his first 100 days, is above water 54%-42%, or plus-12.

Cocoa Beach Air Show plane makes emergency water landing near Patrick

“He was sputtering down the beach and I was like, 'oh he doesn’t sound good' and I just started filming," Schrader said.
“It looked like (the pilot) pulled up at the last moment and avoided any spectators, there were loads of people on the water, and then I saw him on top of the plane. It looked like he was OK," she said.
The pilot reportedly declined medical treatment after the incident, according to Brevard County Fire Rescue officials.
"The TBM Avenger performing in the warbird parade had a mechanical issue and the pilot was able to bring the plane down close to the shore. Rescue personnel were immediately on scene and the pilot is OK," according to Cocoa Beach Air Show officials in a prepared statement.

Here's your AM rundown of people, politics and policy in the Sunshine State.
Imagine you’re in the Super Bowl, and you break free after recovering a fumble for an easy touchdown run. You’re inches from the goal line and start celebrating a bit too early when a speedy wide receiver slaps the ball from your hand, causing another fumble and denying what should have been an easy score.

Don
There’s an analogy in here for Gov.
Ron
DeSantis’ continued COVID-19 response. Despite some early fumbles, Florida has fared comparatively well and, despite all of the partisan hating against him, he’s been right plenty of times.

Florida sheriff uses non-fugitives on Facebook show 'Wheel of Fugitives'

Florida Today
Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey’s signature social media program, “Wheel of Fugitive,” in which a “fugitive of the week” is selected in a mock game show every Tuesday, almost always includes people who are not on the run from the law because they are already in jail, out on bond, have served their time or have no active warrants for their arrest.
On the show, Ivey spins a giant roulette wheel with up to 10 mugshots of “participants” who are supposedly wanted by law enforcement. The goal: land on one who will be the focus of efforts that week to bring them to jail.

David Austin Gay has been shown on the "Wheel of Fugitives" show four times, but each time he wasn't a fugitive. Three times he was already in custody at the Brevard County Jail and the fourth time he was legally out of jail.
BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – On four Tuesday nights between Jan. 26 and February 23, 2021, right after the upbeat rock music intro and the words: "The Brevard County Sheriff's Office Presents" appeared onscreen to the chant of "Wheel of Fugitive," David Austin Gay's mugshot was the first face of 10 contestants that viewers saw on Sheriff Wayne Ivey's signature social media show.

Good Friday morning.
The daily rundown — Between Wednesday and Thursday, the number of Florida coronavirus cases increased by 12,873 (0.8 percent), to 1,613,884; active hospitalizations decreased by 123 (1.7 percent), to 7,024; deaths rose by 161 (nearly 0.7 percent), to 24,739.
Courtroom drama — Who’s ready to relitigate 2018? It seems as if Sen. Rick Scott wants to. Or at least he wants to somehow use those elections as part of his justification to explain his decision to vote against the certification of President Joe Biden’s election after the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
