with this desantis idea that there has to be an early win. right? that is clearly how they see it. and yet i don't see the plan to distinguish himself from donald trump, if anything i see a leaning into remaking yourself in donald trump's image? >> yeah, that's a great point, alyssa. rhonda santas ferdinand said someone who's dramatically mismanaging his campaign until this point, he has twice the staff of donald trump, but half the money is donald trump. he is now third in cash on hand. behind tim scott. but i think what we are seeing is i'm limitations of a candidate who has built his entire narrative on cultural populism. and this is right to your question of, so how does he compete against trump? he is trying to imitate trump in his brashness and his take no prisoners approach. but donald trump is largely owning the new angry economic populism line in the republican party since he created that lane in 2016. so desantis thought he was being heat or smart by creating

like to talk to? >> donald trump. i think a lot of people here. that's an important thing to keep in mind. jared kushner it's headline where they. because of his proximity to trump. he is someone that has maintained a distance since trump left the white house. but that is important here. this does not mean that trump is going to be charged. we do not know. we still have very much reported this out. but they have talked to everyone from jared kushner and hope hicks, to rusty bowers in arizona, and joscelyn benson in michigan. republican speaker of the house there, and the michigan secretary of state. the scope of this is so broad. it's kind of difficult to give or sense the depth of where the charges can come from. because obviously they are asking about trump's mindset. but we also know that they are asking a lot of questions about sydney powell, and john eastman, and kenneth cheeseborough. and rudy giuliani, and the attorneys. that's one question of what they want to know, trump's mindset, but also the efforts and the efforts coming from those who are around him to tell him what to do. >> alyssa, you had joint -- told the jury six committee
ukraine among republicans? >> i think what pence has to do is he has to prove he's running a principled campaign against donald trump. he has to be able to show that he's not going after culture war issues. he can't say i'm more moderate on the culture wars, but talking about republican base issues. russia is an old republican base issue. that's the lane he's trying to carve out for himself. why is he running against his former running mate if he has no disagreement with him on policy? >> something else that came out, alyssa, that's surprising. the desantis ad attacking trump for being too nice and kind to lgbtq individuals, protecting their rights et cetera. bleeding heartland reports this households over the weeken it's thanking donald trump for standing up for lgbtrights. it calls him a trans gender
