CHF & ORS, R (On the Application Of) v Newick Church of England Primary School & Anor [2021] EWCA Civ 613
This was an appeal in respect of an order protecting the identification of the Appellants’ children in any reporting of judicial review proceedings. The Respondents were their children’s primary school and the Council responsible for it.
___
In the summer of 2019 serious and sensitive allegations were made about the behaviour of one of the Appellants' children towards other children in the school. Judge bans media coverage of Bloody Sunday Soldier F hearing

The preliminary inquiry hearing into Soldier F got underway at the Bishop Street courthouse in Derry on Monday.
Soldier F is the only ex-British army paratrooper facing murder charges arising from the killings by members of the Parachute Regiment’s First Battalion of 13 civilians in the Bogside area of Londonderry on Bloody Sunday on January 30, 1972.
District Judge Ted Magill, who has charge of the preliminary inquiry hearing, ruled that nothing about the hearing in terms of opening statements by either the prosecution or by the defence could be made public. Mr Magill also ruled that none of the testimony given by witnesses to the hearing could be made public.
