.-The National Building Museum announced that Aileen Fuchs has been selected by the Board of Trustees as its new President and Executive Director. Currently the President and CEO of the Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden, Fuchs will be the fifth director of the Museum, which last year celebrated the 40th anniversary of its creation by Congress. Her appointment comes at an opportune time in the institutions history, as it reopens this spring with powerful exhibitions, a new Visitor Center, and plans for an exciting program of summer installations.

WASHINGTON, DC — The National Building Museum has named Aileen Fuchs as its new president and executive director as the museum prepares to reopen this spring with a new visitor center and new exhibits.
Fuchs will be coming to the National Building Museum after serving as president and CEO of the Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden on Staten Island in New York. She will be the museum's fifth executive director in its 40-year history.

Newly updated history museum pleases patrons

AU students can now visit the newly renovated Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History, which opened Nov. 21 after being closed for two years. Former Secretary of State Colin Powell read Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address to a 200-person crowd on the museum's steps before it opened, according to The Washington Post.
