The numbers say democrats are likely to get run over and people are saying why isn t he stronger? that s the thing that people don t appreciate. they want him to be bolder. they want him to actually get something done with regard to let s say police reform, voter suppression coming from the right, immigration reform. not be calling mitch mcconnell a friend. so they want someone who is more active and more aggressive and willing to punch at republicans. i think that s why you see his approval numbers down. republicans have never liked him. martha: we have this list of people that could be in the mix. alexandria ocasio-cortez, your former boss, corbin, is number 10. joe biden is number 1. how realistic are these lists and these names of celebrities? seems like there s a lot of grasping for someone different. the key here is to do well, to do better than expected in the mid-terms. they will decide the party control of the house and the senate. like juan just said, what people want to see is the president of
Supporting republican candidates with millions of dollars, juan. what do you make of it? well, i think it s good politics. define your opponent early. the saying goes, before the begun is fight, it s won. you re picking the terms of the fight, setting the time and the place. president biden has spoken about maga extremists, the most radical republican. that s the message from the top in terms of this mid-term election cycle. you don t want it a simple referendum on biden. you want it a choice election. the choice is between what they re presenting as moderate democrats and radical republicans. martha: corbin, what about the politics of manipulating the other side s candidate to be the person that you think is more beatable? i can remember the montages of all the people that said there s no way he could win. people laughing and cackling
