again, at the way that the political winds are blowing out in that direction. and if we get out of that attitude and we get down to business in this next section we can address some of the issues like the unemployment rate. and you saw the president try to reach out to 20 different c.e.o.'s, of the major companies and say, you are sitting on $20 trillion in cash. can we spend that money and create jobs? but, then, paper, on the other r saying, can he listen to the needs of the company and act on that? so, everyone wants credit, and everyone wants to be the business friendly politician and the business friendly party, but the president himself, even in his own party when you look at some of the people that are in swing states, the conservative democrats, he is not guaranteed even their support. so, what he is doing is stepping into a nightmare situation before the election in 2012. >>shepard: thank you, lee.

people will have a change of heart, collectively? i mean, that's basically what with you're saying. >> well, because already from the election until today, they have seen republicans try to turn the house of representatives into a hall of fame for hypocrisy. and let me give you my first two contenders p my first two inductees and it's only monday. michele bachmann who spent her career, saying that she was a pit bull barking against earmarks when she was a minority, and now that she's going to the majority has become kind of a lap dog drooling for earmarks as long as they're in her district for transportation projects. that's not what minnesota wants, voted for. something to create jobs and level with them. and my second one -- >> she also says that the american people want to repeal health care, do you think that's what the american people want? >> well, that leads me to my second inductee, and that's andy harris. the new congressman from eastern maryland, who campaigned saying he was going to repeal health care. it's no good for the american people when he goes freshman orientation, he complains that his congressional health care

around, create jobs. that goes hand in hand period. that's the way it was before the election. that's the way it is now. >> mike, you were at the forefront of the creation of the tea party, watched it, fueled it. what are they saying? >> obviously, obama care is there. they want to avoid the screw-ups from the 1994 takeover from the republicans. they don't want to see stupidity. president obama is out on the campaign trail. we just saw yesterday, he spent almost half of his time in office so far out campaigning and giving speeches instead of in washington and the conservatives want to see an articulate spokesman and, you know, leaders in the congress that can make the case, for example, that obama care is a jobs killer. they don't want ranting and raving. they want to see some intelligent leadership. >> in a way, they see their president wounded politically. i saw a poll that shows he has an approval now of 50%. are your listeners more ant to listen now that he doesn't have as much power? >> my listeners are completely tone deaf to obama because he seems like they've been tone deaf to him for the last 24

control of the senate and the president would veto any repeal? >> reporter: contessa it really is more about symbolism than anything. obviously every republican aide will tell thru is no pathway for this health care repeal to actually become law because it could stop in the senate and be vetoed by president obama. remember a campaign pledge of many republicans in this sweeping tide that came through in this last election. part of their pledge to america to put forth a repeal bill in the house and really something they wanted to have right out of the gate because the field that galvanizes this base and they kept their first promise. the vote is scheduled for wednesday. it's a two-page bill. compare that to the 2,000 ditch page bill the democrats passed and aptly titled "repealing the health care law act." not a lot of stuff left up to the imagination. there's an idea they would repeal this law, construct a republican bill. two things interesting with that bill that are democratic ideas. one a lot the student loan reforms passed the first time
