intelligence community warnings on an intel threat and i go out and talk to the people in industry who look at this, david, you re calling me now on this? it s september. we re dealing with this in may. where have you been. where has the intelligence community been. well i think often that s exactly right. by the time there s a public dissemination of information, it was on cnn four weeks ago. and the the new york times five weeks ago. and yeah, we re very slow to move. but in terms of, you know, sharing information on cyberthreats and malicious code, you know, that can often happen in classified channels. it can happen in unclassified channels. it can happen quickly if we have the mechanism established which we re trying to do through this legislation. but there are going to be times when we learn about the source of an attack where we re not going to want to share the information. or we want to share it in ways that don t tip off the generator of the attack that ....
