weather headlines. jacqui jeras keeping her eye on another storm. >> hello, guys. a little warm-up is what's taking place into the northeast. the real heavy hitter comes into play after dark tonight and bring you that accumulating snowfall. you can see a wintry mess in parts of the tennessee valley and then as you head into the northeast we have that snow coming down in places like philadelphia, just outside of baltimore and just rain right now in washington, d.c. it's going to be a wintry mix throughout much of the day today. we already have airport delays this early in the day unfortunately. a ground stop for you in philadelphia until 8:30 local time. we do expect more delays including places like new york city and boston, baltimore, washington, d.c., atlanta and charlotte. you're dealing with fog. then seattle looking for low clouds this morning as well. how much snow are we talking? the i-95 corridor and westward or northwestward is where we expect the heaviest accumulating snow. for the most part everybody stays well under a foot. you should be able to count the number of inches for most of the

temperatures, storms with 75-mile-per-hour gusts, lightning and hail moving through overnight. we have pictures of the storm damage. this is st. petersburg, florida. heavy rain and high winds knocked down the gas station canopy. you can see that there. trapping a driver in her car. she was rescued by firefighters, had to be taken to the hospital but doing okay. they also say they were dealing with a lot of trees and power lines knocked down. turn to jacqui jeras who can tell us what to expect today. good morning to you. >> good morning. it's going to be stormy again but mostly just this morning across parts of florida especially south florida. thunderstorms kicking in around the keys and southwestern parts of the state. that sticks with you until maybe the noon hour before it improves. the big show is what's going on across the east coast today. that's that wintry weather along with a little wintry mix into parts of the northeast. snow in nashville as well as louisville. we have a mix going on in washington, d.c. right now and that snow is going to start moving into new york city. this is going to be a powerful
but it isn't real performance unless it's wielded with precision. the new 2011 lexus is 350. see your lexus dealer. a look at the nation's capitol this morning. 37 degrees right now. later it's going down. 33 and possibly snow as we talk about this nor'easter, this system moving across the east coast today. it's raining a little bit but again a little snow in the forecast later today for the nation's capital. one guy who left washington, d.c. to get his dream job in chicago is kind of in limbo. we're talking about rahm emanuel who left as white house chief of staffer at the end of last year. he's now been ruled ineligible to run for mayor of chicago by a court, but now another court
commute. you can see it across to the keys as well. let's move on to the winter part of it. nashville, a tower cam out of the nashville area showing you the snow coming down. you've got at least an inch on the ground already. may ends up with three overall before all is said and done. looking at a temperature around 30 degrees right now. and this should be winding down for you, say by the midday hours. we've got kind of two pieces of energy with this storm system. what you're seeing in the northeast now for the most part, this isn't heavy accumulating snow. that's going to come into play later in the day. winltry mix in d.c. this storm is going to be the big maker over the next couple of days. good thing is it's fast-moving. so we should be done with this thing say by midday tomorrow. already looking forward to a little nicer ends of the week overall. all right. we know you're all sick of snow. we're going to talk more about

kentucky, where it's been snow. there you can see it coming down at this hour. you're under a winter weather advisory. check out anywhere between one and three inches of accumulation. you're just kind of on the fence of the back side of this storm. so hopefully you'll be on the lower ends of that. it's heavier down to the south towards paducah and nashville getting in on the snow as well. we're kinds of getting this storm in two little pieces so what you're seeing in the northeast is just kind of a warm-up. the real heavy accumulating snow for the most part for the big cities is going to come into play after sundown for tonight. wintry mix in philadelphia as well as washington, d.c. we'll see the heaviest of snow likely right along the i-95 corridor and just off to the west of there. this is a forecast snowfall totals. there you can see the bull's eye. a little more as you head into boston. lots of travel delays expected as a result of this. new york, philly and boston potentially over an hour. baltimore and d.c. expecting issues as well as atlanta and charlotte due to fog and maybe
degrees. feels like 20, though, and they're getting light snow right now. looks like they're going up to just above the freezing mark later and it should clear up because all of that weather headed up north. >> getting clear there but not so clear in other parts of the country. that is going to be a major story we're keeping an eye on today. yet another winter storm headed for the northeast. you see what's happening there. it will cause all kinds of disruptions with you folks trying to get around, trying to travel but this could be another dangerous weather situation from washington, new york and all around the new england area. >> we've talked about this for a week. meanwhile yesterday three inches of snow just sort of dropped around our area and no one noticed. >> i guess i'm adjusting because i didn't even notice that. in about 90 minutes congresswoman gabrielle giffords expected to be transfer out of icu and to tirr herman memorial hospital. there's a picture of her
