[ cheers and applause ] warren received a rock star welcome in seattle yesterday. and as the camera pulls away, you see more of the size of the crowd. an estimated 15,000 people came out to hear the massachusetts senator explain why she should be president in 2020. that's warren's biggest crowd yet, follows a crowd that was big in minnesota of some 12,000 was the estimate last week. jamiel smith is here with us, a senior writer for "rolling stone" and has recently spent time following warren on the campaign trail. and he also wrote an article for "rolling stone" with the headline, the very real possibility of president elizabeth warren. jamiel, thanks for joining me. >> thank you. >> her biggest crowd yet this past weekend, an estimated 15,000 showing up in seattle. you've been inside one of these big events.

steve: jamiel, you are still living there talk directly, look at the camera and what do you want to say to jerry brown about his sanctuary state? >> every person who has died is your fault. you, kevin daily on, all you left wing nuts, illegal alien lovers who don't care about our family. we go to the cemetery to see our family. we have pictures. we kiss pictures. what do you do? if your grandchild or your daughter's child or anybody like that you know, what would you do, jerry brown? what would you expect the governor to do for you, see, that's how we live every day. we have to have memories. that's all we have is memories or what could have been. and then he is here to protect us. you are not here for illegal aliens. we put you in office. and you are here to protect us. steve: let's see what he does. jamiel shaw who lost his son to an illegal in this country. jamiel, thank you very much
safe in their schools and their communities. when our kids are murdered and we demand to be safe, we're all racist and we are all bigots, you know, because trump supports us we are all bad people. but when their kids are dead, they all of a sudden, you know, they are shutting down the city and they want all these gun laws and stuff like that. the guy that killed my son was on his third gun charge, but they don't care if illegal aliens carry guns and kill our kids. steve: jamiel, you are sitting in los angeles which is a sanctuary stay in a sanctuary state. how many people in california actually like the fact that people who are in this country illegally can live there without fear of prosecution, rather, you know, being deported in many cases? >> pretty much none of them. they have all these polls. i have never, my son has been dead 10 years. i haven't been involved in no polls. i don't know anyone that's been involved in the polls. if they really want to know how we feel, take a vote in
so-called takes down trump. that's all they cared about. i figured it i talked about it on my show. i wasn't surprised. when i heard about it i was driving down the street. i heard it on the radio. i just figured that was, you know, it was going to happen. but, still, you know, it pissed me off though. it was no big deal. it pissed me off like they don't care about us. and this piece of garbage they act like he is so innocent and kate steinle's family is mourning forever. rachel: jamiel, tell us about your son. >> he was a good kid. i started working with him in sports. i was determined to get him a scholarship. he played baseball, basketball, football, two baseball seasons a year. winter, summer, two basketball seasons. played football, ran track. playing golf. i was trying everything. i just was determined that i had to get him to college. and, you know, i had to get
undocumented americans. pete: jamiel is he citing legit can you say i get it but in the end you are saying legal status matters. >> he knows that. that's why he is talking mumbo jumbo because he has on his collar he thinks he is an expert. they always want you to walk a mile in their shoes. walk a mile in our shoes. how about he gets in a casket. we will bury him for a while so he can see what it feels like to be dead. you think it's all good that we are so -- i don't care about illegal aliens, you know. my son was murdered. he was walking down the street in america. he actually thought he could do that and he was wrong. he was shot dead by illegal alien on his third gun charge. we hear people like that want to turn the other cheek? why do we have laws have you illegal aliens in the gangs on their third gun charge and then we are supposed to be okay with our family members being dead? why don't he jump in a casket and see what it feels
♪ pete: we are back with a fox news alert. the doj putting out an arrest warrant for this man, jose garcia zarate the illegal immigrant deported five times and acquitted in the kate steinle case. jamiel shaw jr. joins us now with his reaction. jamiel, so your reaction to this verdict for a lot of people, it's academic, for you it's purge. >> yeah. you know,. pete: what was your reaction? >> i expected it. i remember telling people he is going to walk. they are going -- they are going to make him a sacrificial lamb so to speak. he will be the one that
at that time, i asked candidate trump about a robo call created by a white nationalist super pac. here's the exchange. >> we don't need muslims. we need smart, educated white people who will assimilate to our culture. vote trump. >> mr. trump, when you hear that, does that shock you? do you denounce that? >> nothing in this country shocks me. i would disavow it, but nothing in this country shocks me. people are angry. they are angry at what's going on, they're angry at the border, at the crime, they're angry at people coming in and shooting kate in the back in california and san francisco. they're angry when jamiel was shot in the face by an illegal immigrant and they are angry when a woman is raped and killed by an illegal i mmigrant. by the way, thousands of other cases like that. they're very angry about it. so i would disavow that but i will tell you, people are extremely angry.
pulitzer price winner and editor for "the kansas city star." and jamiel is joining with us, contributor for "the daily beast." we just got finished talking about leaks and i'd like to leave the topic there because it's germain. how do you think your readers took to the leaked transcripts and where members of his base are concerned who live around kansas city? do you think it hurt his relationship with them when they saw that he was perhaps less than serious in letting mexico pay for it? >> they certainly started to chip away at some supporters' belief in donald trump because they are counting on him to build a wall but these avalanche of leaks that charlie spoke about starts to become a blur for readers and in kansas city, particularly on the russia
and as you said there were these groans and suppressed hiss. it probably was the most disappointing and i'm being kind, reaction that the democrats had to the speech. you know, you showed earlier jamiel shaw sr. brian: in fact, you know what, howie, i will symptom you right here. here he is. let's let everyone watch this. >> oh, my god. i was like man, you know, what do they want? i mean, they don't want nothing but division, you know. bickering. they don't want to solve no problems. they don't want to help kids or husbands and family members that's been murdered by illegals. i mean, just out way they did that was so disrespectful. but it's bigger than them. so just keep on moving. just ignore them like they do me. brian: by the way he is saying his son was killed by illegal immigrant and he heard that noise and he was so exasperated. >> killed in cold blood.
