Hyundai has a habit of naming its SUVs after American cities, and when it came to their new compact truck, they called it Santa Cruz. That’s a Californian beach city on the northern edge of Monterey Bay, south of San Jose. The small truck is more “lifestyle” than “work”, and as we’ll see here, Santa Cruz is a rather fitting name for the new model. Hyundai says that the Santa Cruz is inspired by the city it is named after and the passion for adventure that lives there. In the marketing launch for its first-ever “Sport Adventure Vehicle”, Hyundai is partnering with former pro skateboarder and documentary filmmaker, Stacy Peralta, and local legends of the city to show how their spirit of adventure carries into the journeys the truck can deliver.
Share this article International Artists Celebrate Skateboarding In "Eight Inch Blunt" Exhibition Including a silent auction of an original dot painting skateboard by indigenous artist Mary Oliver. The Corner Gallery in Perth, Western Australia will soon launch a group exhibition of works that celebrate the world of skateboarding. Entitled “Eight Inch Blunt,” the presentation will feature various artworks including paintings, photography, mixed-media pieces and more. Participating artists in the show are from across the globe, including Australian artist David The Robot, American artist Jimbo Phillips, British artist Eloise Dorr, Belgian artist Quentin de Briey and Panamanian artist Rafael Gonzalez. Accompanying the exhibition is a series of skate ramps that will be installed throughout the gallery which will be skated by rising local skaters in Perth shot by Jake Rotham and Rowan White. The skateboarding sessions will contribute to an installation featuring wheel marks all over the walls to complement the artwork shown in the gallery.
