India has reported 22 deaths till Februry 5, 2021 following vaccination, though none of these are attributable to the vaccine itself, the Health Ministry said.
According to officials, as of Friday, Februry 5, 2021, nearly 5.2 million vaccinations have been administered over 10.4 million sessions. This suggests that around 50% of the intended target has been achieved. There were 3.3 lakh vaccinations administered today and India has been the fastest, when compared with the United States, United Kingdom and Israel to reach 5 million inoculations, the Health Ministry spokesperson claimed. Night curfew in 4 Gujarat cities to continue till Feb 15
The Gujarat government on Saturday extended till February 15 the night curfew in four major cities of the state- Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot- to prevent the spread of coronavirus, a senior official said.
However, the duration of the night curfew has been curtailed by an hour, from 10 pm-6 am to 11 pm-6 am, he said.

For the Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat), ensuring pandemic protocol in hostels is turning out to be a challenge.
The varsity has announced a break for the offline sessions that resumed on January 4 after nearly 15 students and 10 teaching and non-teaching staff had tested positive.
The postgraduate batches were asked to attend the classes initially.
“Their offline exams that began on January 6 got over on Wednesday. The lab sessions will resume in the first week of February. A disinfection process of classrooms and labs will be carried out as per the pandemic protocol before resuming the sessions again,” said K.N. Madhusoodanan, Vice Chancellor.
