Report: Indian cruise line is new owner of Empress of the Seas

The announcement includes a photoshopped image of Empress of the Seas with the new logo onboard.
Royal Caribbean has only said it sold the ship (and Majesty of the Seas) to "an undisclosed party, based in Asia-Pacific."
The message had no mention of Majesty of the Seas, which leaves its new owner still unknown.
Mr. Bailom's message did say they are working on adding a second ship to the cruise line, but provided no further details.
Empress of the Seas was launched in 1990 (then known as Nordic Empress) by Royal Caribbean following the acquisition of Admiral Cruises.  She was designed specifically for the short cruise market, offering 3- and 4-night cruises to the Bahamas.

Empress and Majesty of the Seas are leaving Royal Caribbean's fleet: Travel Weekly

Dec 16, 2020
|
The Empress of the Seas, the oldest cruise ships in Royal Caribbean International's fleet, is leaving the brand.
The Empress, which launched in 1990, and the Majesty, launched in 1992, are the two oldest ships in the Royal fleet.
The line said both ships were sold to an undisclosed party, based in the Asia-Pacific region, that will release details on future sailings at a later time.
Royal said the Empress, originally the Nordic Empress, was its first ship designed for three- and four-day cruises, and the vessel was the first to sail out of Cape Liberty in Bayonne, N.J. when Royal Caribbean opened the terminal in 2004. Most recently, in 2017, the two ships became Royal's first vessels to cruise to Cuba.
