and tell. thank you for that. but it is really interesting how sort of quiet it is there. if that changes, let us know. we're going to go now to some experts on these and other issues. national security attorney mark zade and former deputy fbi director andrew mccabe. let's start with you on what you say from shimon. does that surprise you? >> it's a little surprising that you don't see more of a physical presence being developed, barricades coming out, vehicles blocking certain streets to access parts of the courthouse. you may still see that by the end of the day today. sometimes 24 hours before the event is when you see that -- those hard changes come into play. we'll have to keep a close eye on it. i'm sure they're coordinating closely across those law enforcement jurisdictions that shimon mentioned. we have to wait and see what happens. >> let's attorney some of the legal issues and, of course, the political issues that go with
reporting, evan. i want to go to another one of our fantastic reporters who is also in miami. shimon, you are monitoring security preparations ahead of this historic arraignment. what are you learning? >> reporter: well, right now, you know, when you look around the courthouse, we are not seeing that sort of uptick in security or measures that we have seen, for instance, in manhattan when the president, the former president appeared there. perhaps that's yet to come. i can tell you certainly that in talking to law enforcement officials this morning there is a lot of concern over the number of people, trump supporters, that are going to appear here tomorrow. they are seeing intelligence that thousands of people are planning, at least right now, to come here. and the big question is what kind of security measures are in place to protect the building, to protect those of white house are here. but i want to give a quick look. most of the area right now is being protected by this kind of
officers and law enforcement officials start to gather in preparation over the weekend. we've been seeing some police officers here, but the presence here has not been heavy. but certainly, erin, that's set to change over the weekend, and obviously into tuesday. so, we'll see. >> all right, shimon. thanks. wolf? >> all right, guys, i want to bring back our experts to discuss what's going on. former deputy director of national intelligence. beth, you used to give trump his presidential daily brief. so what went through your mind seeing the types of highly classified documents he's charged with keeping there? >> you know, my first reaction was, before i read the indictment, it was i'm shocked, shocked that there's gambling going on in this establishment. but then when you read the indictment, the blood just drains from your face, the seriousness of this just becomes absolutely clear. and i'll just add that what i like about this indictment is

>> look at me. wake up. wake up. look at me. wake up. wake up. >> those are the one who is survived. shimon, what was it like showing these families this footage they have been begging to see that the officials won't let them, that they have never seen before? >> reporter: it was one of the toughest things i have probably ever had to do. certainly as a journalist to have to show this to these families, they asked for it.
shimon and cnn to show them the moments that their children were evacuated from the classrooms after the gunman had been taken down. they said they needed to see what their children experienced. they hoped it would help them and help others understand what this kind of violence does to children. i want to warn you what we're about to show you, you might find disturbing. >> one in the leg. where does it hurt ?
we don't know if we're going to make it or not. >> your book is incredibly powerful. what a smart way to try to reach people. the fact that you get up every morning as a mother who lost her son to a school shooting with a purpose is really moving. thank you. a year ago a man started shooting at robb elementary school and killed 19 students and 2 teachers. one of those was a 10-year-old who made honor roll earlier that day. shimon spoke to her parents yun one year later about how they still do not have answers. >> what is your understanding of what went wrong that day? >> my understand ing is this first group of officers that come in, they are shot at. they retreat and they never go
