HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - Morgan, Limestone, and Lawrence Counties, account for 40% of local COVID-19 deaths in nursing home residents. At the same time, nursing home residents make up 0.3% of the overall population.
Nursing home residents were getting vaccinated as early as late December, but now things have come to a halt.
Frank Brown, owner, and CEO of USA Healthcare says there is no plan for follow-up for new employees for patients.
The federal government set up a separate program to administer vaccines to long-term care residents to receive both doses in late December because of their high COVID-19 mortality rate.

As the saying goes, necessity is the mother of invention. A similar correlation is seen in the quest to leverage innovation and out-of-the-box thinking to address key problems facing the healthcare industry. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has brought the immense pressure the U.S. healthcare system is under into sharp focus. Recent dynamics are compounded by the industry’s efforts to adopt newer ways of working and digitizing patient records, while implementing automation throughout their business processes to increase overall efficiency and productivity.

Federal Court Rules Trump Can Bar Uninsured Immigrants From Entering United States

Trump Can Ban Immigrants Who Can’t Pay for Health Care, Federal Court Rules
A federal appeals court in California ordered the lifting of a ban on President Donald Trump’s proclamation that blocks immigrants from entering the United States if they lack health insurance or the means to pay for hospital bills.
In a Dec. 31, 2020, opinion (pdf), the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco said that Trump acted within his authority when, in October 2019, he signed the Proclamation on the Suspension of Entry of Immigrants Who Will Financially Burden the United States Healthcare System.
The ruling reverses a federal court decision to block the implementation of the president’s order, delivering a win for proponents of tighter controls over immigration.
