The 2nd session of the P.L. concluded last week, (Judgement Night) where both Rob Cross and Glen Durrant were eliminated, leaving 8 players to resume the competition on May 5th – 7th and May 24th – 27th. The top 4 compete on the 28th.
My final 4 are Dimitri van den Bergh, Jose de Sousa, James Wade and MvG. lf l had to replace 1 it would be MvG for Aspinall. Overall winner? MvG if he finds his game, otherwise Dimitri, a great player and a breath of fresh air.

Glen Durrant has set his sights on returning to top form this summer following his Unibet Premier League elimination.
The Middlesbrough ace will see his Premier League title defence end on Thursday following Judgement Night, having suffered seven straight losses so far this season.

Given that I have to professionally wrap my head around roughly 1,267 new albums every week – or something like that – in my role as album reviews editor for BBC.co.uk, please do allow me this article of unashamed nostalgia (read: vanity). If nothing else, it’s a reminder to me that while most new music matters for a week, some from my own lifetime will sing its songs into future generations.
Being in 2012 makes the sounds of 1997 seem ever so old on ‘paper’ – yet the year, for me, is yet to be bettered in terms of life-impacting long-play releases. Naturally my age plays a part, but nonetheless, some brilliant LPs were released in the year that Princess Diana died so that Rebecca Black could be born (though perhaps these events were unrelated). And while the choices below are not as fresh as they once were, they each retain potency a full 15 years on from their first release.

Dr Dre included a swaggering sample from McCallum’s 1966 instrumental record The Edge on his 2000 single The Next Episode which featured Snoop Dogg.
McCallum, now 87, who has family links to Macduff, played Russian spy Illya Kuryakin in the hit 1960s series The Man from U.N.C.L.E and received more fan mail than any other actor in Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer’s history including Clark Gable and Elvis Presley.
