Epoch Times Defiant After Hong Kong Printing Press Attacked

Epoch Times Defiant After Hong Kong Printing Press Attacked
By Jerome TAYLOR
04/13/21 AT 4:55 AM
A Hong Kong newspaper linked to a spiritual group banned in China said Tuesday it would "never back down" after a gang of sledgehammer-wielding men damaged its printing presses.
The assault on the Epoch Times was captured on CCTV and comes as China oversees a sweeping crackdown against critics in Hong Kong following huge and often violent democracy protests in 2019.
Footage released by the paper showed four masked men storming into the printing plant in the early hours of Monday morning and smashing up equipment.

Forecast: A quiet Monday, trending cooler this week

We received nearly 1.50" to 2.50" rain in central Missouri over the weekend so the drier weather this week is helpful!
Rain chances are near zero to begin this week. The next chance for rain is expected later this week on Friday and early Saturday morning. Overall the weekend ahead appears more cloudier than sunny, but mostly rain free after Saturday.
There is a slight chance for rain tonight-tomorrow morning close to the I-44 corridor, but air will likely be too dry to impact the KOMU 8 viewing area.
Otherwise, expect cooler temperatures through the coming week. Today's high of 64° will likely be the warmest of the 8-day forecast.

Lauda Announces Better Basics Start-up Investment  Labmate Online

Apr 12 2021 Read 12 Times
Lauda announces a cooperation with Better Basics Laborbedarf GmbH (BBL). The Dresden-based company develops, manufactures and sells smart basic equipment for laboratories that simplifies the organisation of laboratory workstations and supports laboratory employees in their daily work with individually manufactured organisational systems. The modular systems are produced using 3D printing technology. In addition to an equity investment, Lauda is primarily focusing on synergies for the jointly addressed laboratory market.
Thanks to its in-depth expertise in 3D printing technology and the materials used in this process, the start-up BBL is able to realise individual customer requirements in the field of laboratory equipment. The SmartRack organisation system, for example, can be equipped with 3D-printed modules as needed, providing holders for pipettes, round-bottom flasks or waste containers. The modules can be freely combined in terms of quantity and position. In cooperation with BBL, Lauda can offer customer-centric product solutions.

Corrections - Keys Style

The following were discovered after printing the Keys Style special section in the Weekend Edition of The Key West Citizen: Richard Tamborrino’s last name was misspelled; Rocco the turtle’s name was misspelled; and several photos in the section should have provided credit to photographer Larry Benvenuti. The Citizen regrets these errors.
