Warnings of food crises post-Covid-19 are dire. According to one study on global food security by the Centre for Strategic International Studies (CSIS), dated March 15, 2021, one year into the pandemic, ‘…at least four countries are facing…famine, …with 13 close behind…’ The study noted that one year ago, the UN World Food Programme executive director David Beasely, warned the UN Security Council of ‘famines of biblical proportions’ and of possibly 270 million ‘people experiencing crisis levels of hunger’.
Ironically, though, the study says, ‘…a global food shortage or price spikes have not accompanied Covid-19…’ In fact, the UN Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) estimated that in 2020, ‘a new global record for grain production was hit-some 2.7 billion tons of rice, wheat, corn and barley…’ So, why the threats of famine, starvation, extreme hunger in the midst of what appear to be adequate supplies? The CSIS points to breakdowns in the food supply chains in individual countries that were aggravated by interruptions caused by pandemic ‘lockdowns’.

On the morning of Wednesday, January 6th, as supporters of Donald Trump gathered near the White House for a last stand to “Save America,” Molly Conger said goodbye to her two dachshunds, Otto and Buck, tossed a wig into her car, and began the two-hour drive from her home in Charlottesville, Virginia, to Washington, D.C.
A journalist and online researcher, Conger specializes in infiltrating and exposing the violent far right. Using dummy accounts and pseudonyms, she lurks in private chat rooms and invitation-only forums used by neo-Nazis, militias, Proud Boys, and other right-wing extremists. When she sees someone make threats or plan for violence, she screenshots the person’s messages, digs up the person’s real identity and employer, and publishes her findings on her Twitter account, @SocialistDogMom, where she has more than 110,000 followers.

Her first recommendation was for the Eritrea army she accused of war crimes in Tigray to leave immediately. She also called for immediate cessation of hostilities meaning TPLF is still a fighting force Ethiopia has to “Talk” too for delivering food.
The cry of humanitarian aid, the agenda of TPLF foreign supporters, saving TPLF by all means is what Tsedale Lemma is reinforcing using her CSIS appearance.
