He singled out Blacks of all people of color (POC) and said he wonât believe it until we show him proof, so this is my attempt to show him. There are two kinds of racism â individual (which Blacks experience everyday), and systemic which is ingrained in our society. I was watching an episode of Air Disasters on the Smithsonian Channel in which the pilots of an aircraft entered the wrong heading number into the plane’s flight plan system that took them in the wrong direction. When they realized they were lost, they relied upon a visual assessment of the terrain, and discovered what they thought to be a familiar landmark – it was not, but they believed it to be because they wanted it to be. They did not check to verify, nor did they seek reliable third-party intervention, and ultimately crashed.

In one of my recent articles, “Trump’s Report Card,” I shared why I voted for President Trump in 2016, and why I did not vote for him in 2020. During President Obama’s administration, congressional leaders Mitch McConnell and John Boehner had fostered an atmosphere for the Tea Party, and the GOP became known as the “party of ‘no’.” It seemed everywhere Obama turned he was met with a brick wall when it came to bipartisanship. Because Obama was the first Black man to become president of the United States, it was hard for some White Americans to accept.

For instance, as teenagers, a group of them drove over three hours from Brooklyn to New Haven Connecticut just to prove one could buy three scoops of ice cream there for only fifteen cents. The daring story that unfolds is unbelievable!
