Center needs 13 more in final seven games but says team goals most important before playoffs

Connor McDavid said scoring 100 points in the shortened 2020-21 NHL season remains a possibility with seven games left but is not something he's concerned about.
The Edmonton Oilers center has scored 87 points (29 goals, 58 assists) in 49 games and has a 16-point lead on teammate Leon Draisaitl in the race for the Art Ross Trophy as the leading scorer in the NHL, an award he won twice in his first five seasons (2016-17, 2017-18). He is on pace to finish with 99 after scoring three points in a 4-1 win against the Calgary Flames on Saturday.

Frederik Andersen said he'd like to play a game for the Toronto Maple Leafs before the end of the regular season after the goalie participated in a full practice for the first time in five weeks Monday.
"It's great if I can get in action," he said. "I think we have different options to try to do that.
"Right now, my focus is more just to see how it progresses day by day. I think we still have some time hopefully to get into some game action."

Matt Murray and Anton Forsberg are out indefinitely for the Ottawa Senators.
Forsberg sustained an undisclosed injury Saturday during warmups as the scheduled starter against the Vancouver Canucks, and Murray left the 4-2 loss in the second period with a lower-body injury after allowing one goal in 24:13.
"Murray looks like he'll be out a little longer than [Forsberg]," Senators coach D.J. Smith said Monday. "They'll be reevaluated and we'll know more tomorrow."
Goalies Marcus Hogberg and Filip Gustavsson, who was recalled from Belleville of the American Hockey League, dressed when the Senators hosted the Canucks on Monday (TSN5, RDS2, SNP, NHL.TV). Kevin Mandolese also was promoted from Belleville on Monday and was Ottawa's No. 3 goalie.

Oilers 6, Jets 1
It began as a battle for second place in the NHL’s Scotia North Division. It ended as something of a laugher as Edmonton Oilers cruised 6-1 over Winnipeg Jets, passing their gracious hosts in the standings while still holding two games in hand.

NHL On Tap: Canucks host Maple Leafs in first game after COVID-19 pause

Rangers trying for fourth straight win vs. Devils, Penguins-Sabres highlight six-game schedule
NHL.com @NHLdotcom
Welcome to the NHL On Tap. Three NHL.com writers will share what they are most looking forward to on the schedule each day. Today, their choices from the six games Sunday.

Canucks play first game since March 24
The Vancouver Canucks will play their first game since March 24 when they host the Toronto Maple Leafs (7 p.m. ET; SN, TVAS, NHL.TV). Vancouver had nine games postponed following a COVID-19 outbreak when 22 players tested positive for the virus. The Canucks returned to practice Thursday, but the real litmus test of their conditioning level will come against a Maple Leafs team that could welcome forwards Auston Matthews (upper-body injury) and William Nylander (COVID-19 protocol) back into the lineup. They practiced Saturday and will be game-day decisions. Toronto coach Sheldon Keefe said goalie Jack Campbell will start; Campbell has lost his past two games after starting the season with an NHL-record 11 consecutive victories. The Maple Leafs are first in the seven-team Scotia North Division; the Canucks are sixth, 12 points behind the fourth-place Montreal Canadiens with five games in hand. The top four teams will qualify for the Stanley Cup Playoffs. --

The Vancouver Canucks will return to play Sunday against the Toronto Maple Leafs after the NHL delayed their return from a COVID-19 outbreak.
Vancouver has not played since March 24 and had 22 players and four staff members test positive for the coronavirus. The Canucks were scheduled to return against the Edmonton Oilers on Friday and play the Maple Leafs on Saturday, but doctors from the team, the NHL and the NHL Players' Association determined they needed more time.
