Huawei Technologies Co. lost ground last year to Western rivals in cellular-equipment markets outside China, according to an industry research firm, a signal the U.S. campaign to curb the Chinese manufacturer is starting to make an impact.
Huawei's share of revenue from selling wireless-equipment around the world, excluding China, fell 2 percentage points, according to Dell'Oro Group, coming in at about 20% in 2020. Huawei remained in third place behind rivals Ericsson AB and Nokia Corp., which both picked up market share last year, according to the research firm. Ericsson solidified its ex-China market share lead at around 35%, up 2 percentage points, while Nokia gained 1 percentage point to finish the year with about 25% share.

Karnataka: Medical students show the way | Mangaluru News

MANGALURU: Almost 50% of medical college students and staff in Dakshina Kannada district have been vaccinated against Covid-19 since the inoculation programme began. The district is home to more than two dozen medical, dental, Ayurveda and naturopathy colleges.
Health offcials said the response has been “overwhelming”. Dr Ramachandra Bairy, district health officer, said colleges have been actively participating in the drive.
“We have been getting numerous queries from private medical practitioners too, but they will have to wait,” Dr Bairy said. “So far, of 14,000 target overall, 52,381 people have been vaccinated. Anganwadi workers are hesitant for some reason.”
At Kasturba Medical College, about 60% have been vaccinated, said Dr Venkataraya Prabhu, dean. But in some colleges, a majority of beneciaries have also rejected the jab.
