confirmed that police are looking for a wanted suspect. they know who this person is in in two neighborhoods in oakland. one of them is near the corner of 5th and g. another one in san leandro, near 106th avenue, the oakland border. we're knot sure of the cross street -- not sure of the cross street there. we have a reporter at one of these scenes. we're trying to get more information. one thing is for sure. there is a lot of activity. stay with us. we're getting reports that they know who this person is. he was involved in a high- profile crime recently. so we will let you know as soon as we confirm that. again, these are two police searches. the chp is also involved with the oakland police and some other jurisdictions in this search. stay with us. we'll have more coming up. we're also following a new development in the occupy sf. just about 20 minutes ago, police issued a new warning to protesters who remain at justin herman plaza. claudine wong joins us live with new video. >> reporter: good morning. protesters have been out here all morning long. they've been allowed to stay as long as they didn't have tents. take a look at this. you can see people clearing out of here. they did not want to cleave but within the last -- leave but within the last 20 minutes they were ordered. >> the park is technically closed. your presence here is a violation of 3.02 of the park code. what i would like to do is facility eight your first amendment work and ask you to -- facilitate your first amendment work and ask you to leave the park, politely. >> reporter: there are only about a dozen or so people in there. but they didn't really think they should have to leave and didn't want to. >> reporter: will you leave so they can clean? >> we don't necessarily need to leave for them to clean. we've been here for months and they've come in and clean. >> reporter: do that tell you that they will make you move if you don't move on your own? >> the cops are trying to say that the park is closed. parks and rec just has their job to do. we'll try work with them. we're not trying to stand in the way of their jobs. >> reporter: there have been a couple of instances overnight. if we come back out here live out here to justin herman plaza, you can see things are clearing out pretty quickly out here with protesters leave, as they've been instructed to do. we've seen a much bigger police presence. western we got here, the police were lined up -- when we first got here, the police were lined up on market street. there's the mobile command unit that's been in place. and at the bus stop, there are quite a few police officers there. they were holding their riot helmets in hand. it looked like they were ready for some kind of action but that didn't happen. protesters left on their own. we've seen a large crowd at the federal building. 60 people in comparison to the normal 10 that have been there. will they be able to see? that remains to be seen. we're gonna head up education student who was pepper sprayed by police. now, the lawsuit goes back to an incident from last year. a 7 clld boy had climbed on top of a -- 7-year-old boy had climbed on top of a bookshelf in the classroom. the police were called. one officer used pepper spray to subdue the child. they say that was necessary because the child was out of control. the fame argued he was treated like -- like a criminal. we want to go back to sal and check on that breaking news. >> we do have newschopper2 over police action in oakland. it's a police search and it looks like they are lined up somewhere in the area of 106th and foothill. we're getting word there were two separate searches for a wanted felon in connection with some recent crimes in oakland. two search locations, a rather extensive search with oakland police and the california highway patrol. they have a lot of officers in these neighborhoods. one of them is 106th near foothill. the other is at 85th and g street. ktvu has a reporter on the ground trying to get more information. as you might imagine, police have been too but stoi speak with us to confirm some of the details we have or some of the reports we've heard. but this person is a known suspect. they think they know where in man is and they've surrounded two neighborhoods trying to get him out this morning in this early-morning police search and raid in news conference regarding the sudden death of a football player from the bay area. fred thompson was playing a pickup game last night when he collapsed and died. his family is on the i -- is on their way to oregon. 7:30. the parents of a toddler critically injured in last month's shooting are making an emotional request. the boy was shot in the head while in the arms of his father. doctors in oakland say he's brain dead and should be taken off life support because he probably won't survive. however, his parents want a second opinion and more time. >> i think if he had more time to come out of shock that i can make it. >> so far the hospital has made no comment on the family's request. he was critically wounded among the seven outside of a liquor store two weeks ago. police in sacramento police are still here on the scene with their guns drawn. they believe the suspect may be riding in the at tick. the police have asked us not to give the exact address. they are here. they are waiting for this person to to come out. we're told san diego has taken over the scene. we're told this is in connection with the black friday incident that happened. a was in san lee -- that was in san leandro. it looks like three people were arrested. if you will recall, around it -- around 2:00, a man was shot. the family wrestled the suspect to the ground. the family says they he tried to steal what they just bought. so the family held onto him. he's been identified as tony phillips of oakland. police were searching for accomplices. and that's what we believe this raid is about. we're gonna cut. police officers still have to vote on the agreement and the city council has to approve it. the pay cuts are expected to prevent police layoffs next year. today a review board will give its recommendations on plans to install cell phone antennas in palo alto. at&t wants to install about 80 cell phone antennas on existing utility polls to boost coverage in the city -- in the city. the some -- some people are concerned that will be an eyesore. the review board reviewed the wire company's plan in august. today, at&t is expected to reveal alternative designs they've developed since the meeting. dog owners in san carlos want a new place for their pets to roam free. more than two dozen gathered last night. the daily news says the group screamed at officials as the city plants to crackdown on -- crack down on aggressive dogs. the pet owners say it's too small and harmful for the dogs. well, santa clara county's ban on fast food toys apparently has not maked fast food menu foss for kids healthier. that's -- menu for kids healthier. the ban affects those chains in unincorporated parts of the county. researchers say some restaurants did do things like take down posters that market directly to kids. well, next month, students at five san francisco schools will be given their own reusable water bottles. this is a pilot program designed to ply with federal and state -- to comply with federal and state laws. the schools are ortega, chin, tenderloin community and sutro elementary schools as well as wattonberg -- wallenburg high school. they will install filling stations in place of regular drinking fountains. apple has updated the plans to the new spaceship campus. the new plan, the roof will be kov earned in solar panels. that -- covered in solar panels. apple also says 80% of the entire 150-acre campus will be landscaping and not buildings. well, facebook's expansion plans, it's good news for the economy. but it's a different story for commuters. lorraine "the washington post" says the ashes of at least 274 american troops were dumped in a landfill in virginia. that's more than the military revealed. those landfill disposals, which were never authorized, ended in 2008. today a court in thailand sentenced an american citizen to two and a half years in prison for defailing thailand's royal family. 55-year-old joe gourd was born in thailand. he was convicted of translating excerpts of the biography of a king in thailand which is banned in thailand and then posted the excerpts online. 8:16. in russia, prime minister vladimir putin accused hillary clinton of encouraging and supporting election protesters. thousands of demonstrators have filled the streets of moscow, protesting reports of fraud in sunday's parliamentary election. widespread ballot box stuffing and vote count manipulation have been reported. secretary clinton says russian voters deserve a full investigation. this morning fulsom prison guards will continue to search for weapons used in yesterday's riot. the riot involved at least 50 prisons. guards fired pepper spray to get the inmates under control. but it still took them about ten minutes to do that. nine were injured. four of them are out of the hospital and back behind bars. just a couple of minutes ago, former penn state coach jersey sandusky was released from jail. he posted $250,000 bail. he was arrested and arraigned yesterday on child molestation charges. two more men have come forward accusing them of being abused. there are now more than ten alleged victims. sandusky faces 50 counts of child molestation. in the meantime, the charity is expected to close down very soon. 8:18. this morning, uty till -- utility crews are going door to door in the san gabriel valley. they are checking on the last home still without stris after last week's massive power outage. southern california edison is confident the lights will be back on for everybody by the end of today. last week hurricane force winds knocked out power to hundreds of thousands -- hundreds of thousands of people. by this time next year, there will be a lot fewer stores for the teen retailer, pacific sun wear. the clothing chain plans to close up to 200 of its worse performing stores. pacific sun ware says it will focus its aticks on the remaining 600 stores. the company posted a $17 million loss in the last quarter. if you are looking for a job this morning, wells fargo is hiring. the company is hosting a career fair today in santa clara. wells fargo says it wants to hire more than 70 people for happening, tara? >> reporter: well, police are still here and they are staking out a house off 106th and foothill boulevard. they believe their suspect is hiding in the attic. but we're not gonna show you where the house is because if he's watching television, we don't want him to know where police are stationed. around 7:15 this morning, a s.w.a.t. team stormed into this gray house, one of two homes police were targeting this morning. they took out five people. one was carrying a baby. it tooking -- it looked like three people were arrested. a source within the oakland police department tells us it's all in connection with the black friday that happened at the san leandro walmart the day after thanksgiving. if you are recall around 2:00 in the morning, november 25th, a man in his -- and his cousins had finished shopping when a group of people blocked their car and tried to rob them. they tried to grab the merchandise that was just bought. now, a suspect wrestled another suspect to the ground. the other suspect ran off. the family held the suspect until police arrived. the police are searching for one of those accomplices. that's what we believe this raid is about. san leandro is on the scene here. apparently, oakland s.w.a.t. was tied up last night -- tied up, they were out until about 1:00 in the morning. so they will bring in another tale. and opd will be holding a press conference with the media and updating us. we're also told at 85th and g that three suspects were taken into custody over there. we'll be learning how all of this is connected -- coming up a series of eight aftershocks -- eight aftershocks. hours earlier, a bigger quake hit off the coast of the humboldt county. >> the usgs says the magnitude 4.0 quake hit shortly after 9:00 last night, about 85 miles southwest of eureka. eureka police dispatcher said police did not receive any calls reporting. earthquake and that it was not felt at police headquarters. 8:32. grief counselors are working with students at oakland tech this morning as the word is spreading -- as the word is spreading about last night's sudden death of a recent garage witt. fred thompson was a freshman tackle at oregon university. last night he was playing a pickup basketball game when he suddenly collapsed and died. he attended oakland tech. he was originally from richmond. his family is on its way to oregon this morning. just a short time ago, we talked to his football coach at oakland tech. >> everybody looked at him like a big brother. he apparently died of a heart attack. he would have been 21 this saturday. . a covert criminal investigation has led to the arrest of at least two dozen suspected gang members. they face multiple charges, witness intimidation and drug violations. the arrests come after a seven- month long investigation involving multiple agencies including state and federal officials. investigators say the suspects are all gilroy residents but part of the investigation took place in morgan hill, hollister and san jose. 8:33. well, this morning, police in sacramento moved in on a group of occupy sacramento protesters. they were arrested after refusing to leave cesar chavez plaza after the city's 11:00 p.m. curfew. protesters claim their right to assemble should not be limited by a curfew. oakland police officers were criticized for the way they handled several occupy protest and protesters. that resulted in violence and severe injuries. the city has now posted these videos of some of the confrontations. coming up for you at 8:45, pam cook is coming back complicating things a little bit, is a second group has filed the paperwork to recall the mayor as well. a family says their cat and dog suddenly became sick and had seizures on sunday. both pets were
