>> still need a lot of rain. >> all right. we'll get there one day. let's check in with julie wright. >> good morning, guys. unfortunately, we've got a serious accident to report. fatal crash has occurred along the northbound stretch of 301 north of brandywine near dyson road. the northbound side has been closed down and will be for quite some time due to this ongoing investigation. southbound, the lanes here are open. other side of town, you will find two separate incidents, one eastbound along 66 here at 234 south now cleared over to the shoulder so our lanes are open. big delays coming in out of manassas. accident number two, occurred up near other fair oaks. that accident activity also cleared to the shoulder. heavy volume leaving 50 to 123 continuing close in at the beltway. accident activity that we had 108 at new hampshire avenue has been cleared. that's a check of your fox 5 on-timetraffic. imetraffic. violence breaks out in kabul, afghanistan just hours after president obama's surprise visit to sign an agreement with afghanistan's president. now, seven people were killed. the taliban says it was in response to president obama's pact with president karzai. after meeting with karzai. the president said the troops' efforts have not been in vain. >> the sacrifices awful you have made, the sacrifices your families make -- all of you have made, the sacrifices your families make every single day are what make america free and what make america secure. >> the partnership agreement he signed with president karzai solid identifies the u.s. presence in afghanistan through 2024. the anniversary of the death of osama bin laden raised concerns of possible attacks here too forcing metro to beef up security. transit police are still on what they call a heightened state of vigilance and are out in force at metro station as cross our region. but metro stresses there is no specific or credible threat to the system. -- at metro stations across our region. on the campaign trail, republican presidential candidate mitt romney will be in virginia today. yesterday, at a stop in new york city with former mayor rudy giuliani, romney remarked on the anniversary of the death of bin laden. >> had i been president of the united states, i would have made the same decision the spread president made which was to remove him and i acknowledge that actually a year ago when this was announced that the president deserved cede feat the decision he made. i continue to believe that and certainly would have taken that action myself. >> now romney will make a campaign stop in chantilly this morning. tonight, he will have a fundraiser at the pentagon city ritz. the latest real clear average ever politics shows the president leading in virginia by 46% to romney's 44%. mney's newt gingrich has announced will suspend his campaign this afternoon. he has in the come forward to endorse romney but a spokesman says that could happen in a couple of weeks. the search is on for a suspect accused in an armed robbery right near the university of maryland campus. this happened around 11:15 last night on the 4500 block of heartwick road. the 35-year-old victim said he was trying to open his car when three males wearing hoodies assaulted him. the suspects stole his car which police then found in wheaton, maryland. the future of dulles rail will be discussed in a meeting today with transportation secretary ray lahood. this is a risk of the project falling apart because of cost concerns and issues involving pro-union labor deals. counties that are a part of the metropolitan washington airports authority have been unable to reach an agreement and lahood is hoping to come to a compromise to keep the project moving forward. we are talking more about this coming up at 8:00. bob mccartney, metro columnist with the "washington post," will join us live here to talk all about that. making headlines this morning, his death was ruled a homicide. the suspected cause, hazing. today, charges could come in the case. an effective crime fighting tool or a violation of constitutional rights. police in maryland told they have to stop collecting dna from suspects in violent crimes. now, a big name is challenging that ruling. i'm gonna make you breakfast. what? yesterday. we got a really strong and surprisingly strong report on manufacturing. we are not expecting the number. basically the best number we saw in about a year for the month of april. that is what fuels the rally a little bit of a drop-off this morning. investor are starting to turn their attention to the job market. private payroll expected to be weak and on friday, the big government jobs report. >> now, let's talk about facebook. we've been talking about this for a while. they've got a date and that date, they go public may 18th. how big of a deal this is in. >> the "wall street journal" finally pinning down the date. this is a huge deal. facebook will start the road show this coming monday. they try to tout the come to institutional invefortsors out there. so when facebook does start trading hopefully on may 18th as a public company on the nasdaq taxicker symbol fb, it is looking to raise $5 billion. this is like the biggest thing we've seen since google eight years ago. >> it seems like they can do no wrong. effect they do ends up making more money for them. >> it is true but there is some concern right now actually about their latest earnings report. a little war in afghanistan. he signed a long-term agreement with president hamid karzai spelling out the withdrawal of u.s. troops in 2014. he detailed the road map ahead between the two countries on a symbolically important day to both nations. >> i will not keep americans in harm's way a single day longer than is absolutely required for our national security. but we must finance issue the -- finish the job we started in afghanistan and end this war responsibly. >> a few showers after president obama last, a bombing in kabul killed seven people. the taliban is claiming responsibility for the attack which killed seven people. police say two car bombs exploded just down the street from a guest house that is popular with foreigners. then a gun battle broke out between police and two attackers hold up in the building near the bombings. the anniversary of osama bin laden's death raised concerns of possible attacks here forcing metro to beef up security. >> transit police are still secured officials continue to say there is no specific or credible threat at this point connected with dud's anniversary. there will be an increased security presence in and around washington, d.c. and other cities. security at airports, fox, in the united states and europe have been increased. the department of home lapped security saying its agents continued to monitor intelligence reporting and respond appropriately. and one place d.c. area commuters will see that today for sure is on metro. transit police, antiterror teams will be on what the agency says is a heightened state of vigilance. riders are told that they may see a greater presence of police on the cars and at the stations and also again, metro reiterating what we've been hearing from national security officials that they do not have any specific threat but they do know and they have been informed of the desire sometimes around anniversaries to launch attacks and they are also reminding customers to make sure that they call metro and talk to police if they see any suspicious ask tuft or any un-- activity or see any unattended packages. prosecutors say a bosnian born u.s. citizen had received al-qaeda training. he was planning to attack just days before the eighth anniversary of september 11th. two of his co-conspirators and former high school classmates needed guilty and testified against him. he faces a maximum sentence of life in prison. now, five men are behind bars this morning accused of plotting to blow up a bridge near cleveland, ohio. federal authorities say the suspects planted fake explosives provided to them by an undercover fbi agent at the base of the bridge. now, the men had unknowingly been work with the fbi informant for months. authorities say the suspects are part of a >> lots of rain as well. so got to deal with that and then we'll -- not sure we're going to clear things it out today. it will be kind of murky and evercast for a good portion of the day with on again, off again showers and thunderstorms. but not going to rain all day. there is a live look at your radar again. most of the action continues to be south and east of the city. and st. mary's city, you are going to get it if you are not getting it at the moment here down into sal concerta county and crossing the bay here. we just hay special marine warning put out by the national weather service to expect wind gusting with these storms up to about 45 miles per hour. you with k. see most of the thunderstorm activity now well south and east of us and will be crossing the bay. salisbury, cambridge, you are next but we're not done with it even here in the immediate washington area. we've got more showers developing out towards reston and manassas. we'll see if they kind of hold together and strengthen as they approach the beltway here in the next 15 minutes or so. let me push on and show you the bigger picture. we've got a whole other complex here off to the north and west now approaching western maryland. we'll see if that holds together. that is likely to stay a little bit further to the north. if you are watching up in montgomery county, up into carol county, you may be dealing with morning showers and thunderstorms. all of this is because air warm front just hanging up across the area. it is trying to punch. to the north and east but with high pressure here blocking it, it can't move a lot. this will serve as a focal point to get enough lift in the atmosphere later today that we could see additional showers and thunderstorms kind of redevelop this afternoon. so bring along an umbrella here. be ready for the possibility of kind of a pop-up shower or thunderstorm at any point later this afternoon although it won't rain all day today. it will just be warm and huge you had out there. you can seat warm front doesn't move a whole lot. it will try to budge north and just be a stationary front. i think it will be far enough north and east tomorrow we should see more sunshine and just a few scattered showers in your forecast by tomorrow afternoon. there is your five-day forecast. # 3 today. warm conditions, humid conditioned and maybe an affect shower or thunderstorm as well. tomorrow, a little better but warm. friday, 87. yeah, we'll be flirting with 90 for the next couple of days. a little cooler this weekend. kept a shower out of the forecast for the weekend. but we've got to watch a cold front. it could give aussie shower here late saturday, early sunday. >> it has been a while since we've seen all those 8s in the five-day. >> crazy 8s. >> tony perkins is here. >> good morning. speaking of crazy. >> i know. i resisted there. >> thank you very much. did i it for myself. you know what it is time for?
