0 shares Police have set up some 300 checkpoints across the country to enforce the national lockdown, which came into effect at 5 p.m. this evening. The checkpoints, placed mainly at the entrance and exits of cities and towns, will be checking cars from 7 p.m. to midnight, Channel 12 news reports. The channel says, however, that police have been instructed to “implement light enforcement” of certain aspects of the lockdown, with a focus on preventing gatherings and New Year parties.
