Saturday evening in the South End By David Grima | May 20, 2021 A couple from Connecticut recently agreed to buy a house in Rockland that consists of an upstairs apartment and a downstairs apartment, and expressed their willingness to pay a half-million dollars for it. The two tenants were given notice, and immediately began looking for alternative places to live. This is not easy to do in Rockland, right now. Before the Modern Plague hit us over a year ago, it was already difficult to find homes to rent or buy in town, and now it is even more difficult as local people often have to compete with wealthier types from away.
