in federal hill. the good news is there's a slight breeze coming through. the baddnews that breeze is not going to be enough to cool things off today. you heard steve say ii, breeze temperatures of the heat index at 105 in the city, 110 on the easttrn shore. of course that means a heat advisory is in effect and will remain in effect through 8:00 tonight, extremely hot conditions that could even cause severe thunderstorms this afternoon. you're taking a look at some the through our region last notice. heat today could make ttings even worse adding to dangerous conditions out here already. >> this type of weather can be fatal to peopleeand while it iso are elderly or the very young, people with chronic conditions people who are obese, it can affect people of any age and so you have to pay attention. >> reporter: last year there were six heat related deaths the entire summer in maryland, already this year, we are up to 16 deaths. many of those people did have underlying health issues. trucks were on the scene tuesday ight battling that heavy smoke. a driver goes through a building in south baltimore. it happened around 7:00 yesterday morning at patapsco avenue. the car plowed through the wall of an electric supply firm leaving the huge hole. the driver suffered serious cuts to hii leg. montgomery county man arrest a man for spraying semen on female shoppers. it happened outside of a gaithersburg grocery store. police fear there could be more victims out there. michael edwards approached a woman at a gaithersburg giant store back in july. allegedly used a soap dispenser to squirt of the woman's hair and neck with a liquid. it wasn't soap inside, it was semen. edwards was caught on surveillance tape doing same thing back in november at a michael's forcas craft store. now police fear there's more victims out there that don't even know it. >> therr's a god chance ttat he -- good thans tha chance that he this and we're not aware of. >> edwards was rested but now -ight now he is free on bond. police still don't know the motive behind the attack, but they say the dna evidence eft behind is critical to their investigation. the tied may finally be changing for the oil spill in the gulf. bp officials say startinn today they will start shoving cement down pipes to seal the oil leak off. they say for the first time yesterday, they were able o
