developments on the woman from maryland missing in aruba. we continue to investigate and mike hellgren brings us the latest from aruba. >> reporter: investigators in aruba postponed a search for robyn gardner saying they need more time to prepare. they are working to build a gis against gary giordano. wjz obtained transcripts of his interview. he says it was a typical day. got up, went to lunch and decided to go snorkeling. he claims they went too far into the water. he said i only looked back when i hit a rock. before that i was busy saving my life. but authorities doubt his story and friends say she would never get into the water. >> he was wearing a shirt, shorts, shoes and socks. didn't seem to be a man who just came out of the water. >> police looked at gary giordano's troubled past. >> yanked my arm really hard. scary. he was, let's say, physically aggressive. >> authorities took a dna sample from gary giordano and sent it for evaluation. wjz also turned they questioned him about a accidental debt insurance policy he bought on robyn gardner. police asked him about his finances too. through all of this he always maintained his innocence. mike hellgren, wjz eyewitness news. did going good told police he took out insurance on himself and named his mother the beneficialary. firefighters are hospitalized battling a blaze in baltimore. the latest on their condition. >> the fire broke out in canton. flames ignited inside the warehouse. the fire burned for several hours before firefighters got it under control this morning. tonight one firefighter remains in the hospital, treated for heat exhausttion. four others were treated and released. no one else was injured. >> thank you. the cause of the fire is still under investigation. a lightning strike at a condo caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage. of more concern, this is the third time lightning ruined homes there. mike schuh spoke to residents. >> reporter: cell phone vid yeshows what lightning can do. >> crews were dispatched. they found heavy fire. >> reporter: it grew so two extra alarms were called up. 100 people needed to bring it under control. those burned out waiting to return. the three were released today. the men spent 2 deckads locked up for the murder of three young boys. more on this surprise decision. >> reporter: damien echols, jessie misskelley and jason baldwin were stunned a at their sudden freedom from a arkansas prison after 17 years. >> feel very much in shock still, overwhelmed. you have to take into consideration i spent the past decades in confinement. >> reporter: the west memphis three were teens in 1933 when they were convicted in the killing of three eight-year-old boys, the bodies of the boys were found mutilated in a ditch. prosecutors decided to cut a deal with the men because new dna surfaced and they didn't think they could win a new trial. they agreed to plead guilty in exchange for their freedom. >> we will let you know only if you admit guilt and that's not justice. >> reporter: the case got national attention. even some of the victim's parents are now on their side. >> they are innocent. they did not kill my son. >> reporter: as part of the plea damien echols was released from debt row. jason baldwin said that's the only reason he agreed save his friend. wjz eyewitness news. >> the prosecutor believes the case is closed and with her two son and when he came home his wife was gone. investigators are coming -- combing through the desert. >> we never left. december 6. it's just something that we can't get away from. every day we expect to hear they found her body or hear this is over. >> the husband was named a person of interest but he was never arrested or charged. a week after the stage collapse at the indiana state fair a sixth person has died from their injuries. she died this morning at a hospital in indianapolis. he was trapped in the wreckage when the winds toppled the stage. investigators are trying to determine whether proper safety precautions were in place. prince william and kate middleton take a tour of london, hoping to help with the healing process. they stopped by a community center near the site where three men were kill. they say the violence they saw shocked them and they wanted to help with the recovery. month since a gunman massacred people in norway. now relatives are visiting the
