penns landing river rink. here's a look at the headlines. temperatures have dropped well below freezing, especially west of philadelphia. where there are some locations down in the upper teens. because of that and the leftover moisture on the roads we're seeing the black ice developing, please drive slowly and allow extra space between you and the car ahead of you. untreated surfaces and bridges and off ramps are slick. magic number is 32, once we get above 32 any ice will melt. most of the region is below that number. so we have a little work to do. 29 in gandys beach, glassboro 30. cape may, 33. dover, down to the freezing mark of 32. temperatures, as we take a look at future tracker 6, 9:00 a.m., the modeling is suggesting most of the i-95 corridor, as well as areas south and east are above freezing at that time. still, maybe a degree or two below freezing north and west, even there, by 10:00 a.m., you should jump above freezing at that point. everybody is well above freezing by lunchtime. if you have any icy conditions outside, it should last another half-hour to an hour and and a half that's about it. it's a george to us -- gorgeous day, 40 by 1:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., 43. shooting for a high of 44. we have more in the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast coming up in just a bit. >> look forward to it, thank you. this morning a taxi driver is fighting for his life. he was shot 13 times after a confrontation with a customer. police found the cabby shot and lying on the sidewalk with the cab engine running. this all happened in the 800 block of brooklyn street in west philadelphia at about 2:00 a.m. a half-hour earlier, police say the driver with the philadelphia taxi cab company refused a ride to a difficult passenger, about two blocks away at 42nd and ogdon street, police are looking for a black vehicle leave be the scene of the shooting. we know the 56-year-old victim is undergoing surgery. more breaking news from south philadelphia. a masked man with a shotgun mugged a woman in her parking garage. the victim was walking from her car on the third floor of the marine club condominiums on the the 1100 block of south broad street. the criminal we are told got away with the woman's purse and cell phone. thankfully the victim was not hurt. 7:03 your time. this morning the search continues continues for the person who shot two men working for the same philadelphia tow truck company. one of the men fighting for his life in the hospital. unfortunately, his co-workers a loving father died. he was shot right in the front of his home. "action news" reporter, bob brooks talked to the victim at family about the legacy he left behind. >> reporter: he is pictured with his mom and two sons, sadly the boys will have to grow up without their father. the 28-year-old was gunned down outside his home in the 6600 block of haggerman street in tacony last night. we spoke with his grieving family. >> this is a good young man, a young man who worked he wasn't in the street, he was about his family, he was about his children. >> reporter: we obtained surveillance video of the heinous crime, it's quick. bruster worked as a tow truck driver, before he closes a door, a suspect walks up behind him and shoots him and his co-worker. he was killed. the co-worker was shot multiple times, he is in critical condition. you can see it happened in a matter of seconds. his family said they don't know why this would happen. >> egg to work, he come home. he's not in the streets. >> reporter: haggerman street we noticed quite a few real estate signs every neighbor we spoke with said things are out of control. >> we're about to leave the neighborhood. >> i have four grandchildren, you're afraid to leave your kids out. >> i'm looking to get out. >> reporter: one neighbor blames things specifically on drugs. >> i think a lot of things have to do with the drug heroin. a lot of people partake in it. >> >> reporter: his family has to say this to the killer. >> turn yourself in, let your conscience be your guide. i don't know how you sleep or able to sleep, because you took away something special, something precious from all of us. >> reporter: the family said the neck step in his life was move out to the neighborhood and buy a home for two young boys. fun anything about this call philadelphia police, reporting from northeast clouds holding on with the system that produced the wintry mix yesterday. it's racing off the coast, by mid morning we'll see a decent amount of sunshine. radars are clear this morning, we don't have to worry about any precipitation today or tomorrow. the next chance of precipitation will be in the form of rain is tuesday. 31 degrees for philadelphia. we've dropped one degree below freezing. dewpoint, 26. pressure reading is rising. winds out of the northwest at 6 miles per hour. most of the area, the exception being the lower portions of cape may county and south of dover, the exception of that, everybody is below freezing at this point. if there's any leftover moisture from yesterday's system, wet roads, more than likely it's starting to glaze over if has not been treated. be careful out there this morning, there could slick spots, but again, over the next hour, hour 1/2, temperatures climb above freezing and any ice will start to melt. we have wind speeds out of the west/northwest at 5 to 7 miles per hour. that gives us a slight windchill this morning. everything warms up nicely later on. satellite and radar clearing off to the northwest that will push southeast to philadelphia and south jersey in the morning hours. we're looking at a nice day, which future tracker 6 will confirm in just a moment. we'll see a decent amount of sunshine from start to finish. that gets the temperatures in the 40s. monday a repeat performance, the exception being the cloud cover approaching from the southwest. that doesn't get in here until late of in the day. that's in adds -- advance of the next system. this is the highs storm that's hitting the heartland right now with a tremendous amount of ice and sleet in kansas and wichita. by the time it travels across the region and moves into our neck of the woods, temperatures are much, much mild with the temperatures in the 50s. peek -- speaking of 50s, tomorrow, we'll have temperatures in the 40s. the warm front lifts through the region on wednesday. all the cold air retreats into northern portions of canada, hudson bay, the pole, that's where the cold air retreats. it is suggested 6 to 8 straight days of 50-degree temperatures. the only thing that would hold the numbers back, would be clouds and if we have rain. otherwise it's 50s galore over the next week and a half. nice and sunny, 44 degrees is the here's what we know about this, the action cam was at that scene, 700 block of parker avenue in chester, police were called at 11:30 to reports of gunfire outside of ming's restaurant. we know that two men were shot, they were rushed to crozer-chester medical center, so far no word about their conditions. philadelphia police say a road rage shooting put a man in the hospital. it happened in the parkside section of the city around 10:00 a.m. jeanette reyes has the story. >> reporter: philadelphia police received a call of a report of a man with a gun and male shot. officers responded to the 1700 block of north 53rd street that's where they found the victim with a gunshot wounds to the hip. on the sedan, you can see a single bullet hole on the drivers side door. the victim told police, the shooting was the result of a road rage incident that began on the expressway a mile away from the scene. the suspect drove off in a black toyota camry with tinted windows. >> i'm not surprised to hear about it. >> reporter: why's that? >> there seems to be an unsurge in violent activity in the neighborhood. >> reporter: the victim we are told is in stable condition. he was not able to get a commissioner, richard ross is marking his first year as the city's top cop. vernon odem talk to commissioner ross about success and challenges. >> realizing despite your best efforts you'll you mean tracker 6 live nothing going on the moisture from yesterday is long gone at this point. it's well out to sea, and temperatures will be somewhat cool, but even for january standards, it's not too terribly bad. this is the only concern this morning for icy patches developing because the temperatures have dropped below freezing. some of the roads are wet from the moisture yesterday, black ice is developing, slow it down on the secondary roads, keep both hands on the steering wheel if there's couple of cars in front of you, keep distance between you and the guy in front of you. once we get to 9:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m., most of the numbers will climb above 32 and the ice will melt. pottstown, 24, center city, 31. chester, 29 that's the same number in glassboro and seven minute son. woodbine, 31. villas, 33 degrees. satellite and radar it's a nice quiet weather pattern for us in the east over the next time couple of days. a real mess across the heartland, you see all the colors, blues and purples. what's going going on, this purple shade through western iowa and oklahoma and kansas, you have ice warnings to the west, this is freezing rain and sleet that continues to pound away at the heartland of the nation, the football game between the chiefs and the steelers has been pushed back to 8:30 because of all the ice. the good news, this system, the warmer air will eventually win the battle. conditions will start improving as the day wears on. the storm travels east, by the time it heads into our neck of the woods, east of the mississippi, this is all mild air, it will fall in the form of rain for us in philadelphia. on a tuesday, the rain/snow line is up here in new england. there's no wintry precipitation in the fee -- foreseeable future. not only are we talking about a january thaw. we're talking about an extended january thaw where we'll see 6 to 8 days of temperatures in the 50s. enjoy it, because it does not happen much in philadelphia. allentown, 41. cape may, 42, mostly sunny and nice. cold overnight with temperatures dropping into the teens and 20s, allentown, 19, millville, surrounding suburbs the colder suburbs like vineland and buena, you could get to feisty and one is softer. >> reporter: the show is set in 1993 in their home while they reflect on the last industry while preparing the male for their -- last century while preparing a meal for their family. one became a high school teacher in new york, the other one of the few black women licensed to be a dentist. >> we're bringing them back to life. >> they are two very extraordinary people in
