US Senators Threaten To Sanction International Criminal Court If It Seeks Arrest Of Israeli PM Netanyahu, Other Officials Over Gaza War

The United States Senators have warned the International Criminal Court (ICC) against issuing arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other Israeli officials.    The US lawmakers issued the warning in a letter dated April 24, 2024 and addressed to Mr. Karin A. A. Khan KC of the Office of the Prosecutor, ICC, The Hague, The Netherlands.

Alleged Blasphemy: Court Begins Hearing Of Sheikh Abduljabbar's Appeal Of Death Sentence

An Appeal Division of the Kano State High Court has commenced hearing an appeal filed by Sheikh Abduljabbar Nasiru Kabara, challenging the death sentence verdict slammed on him by Justice Ibrahim Sarki Yola of the Upper Shari’ah Court.     On December 15, 2022, SaharaReporters reported how an Upper Sharia Court sitting in Kano has sentenced controversial Islamic cleric Abduljabbar Nasiru Kabara, to death by hanging.

US Government Says Russia's Nuclear Drill Around Ukraine Is 'Irresponsible Rhetoric'

The United States on Monday described Moscow's action as "irresponsible rhetoric" after Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered nuclear drills near Ukraine.      Pentagon spokesman, Major General Pat Ryder, told journalists when asked about the announcement, "This is an example of the kind of irresponsible rhetoric that we've seen from Russia in the past. It's completely inappropriate given the current security situation.

Gunmen Kill One Traveller, Abduct Several Others Along Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode Expressway

Gunmen have reportedly killed one person and abducted seven other travellers along the Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode expressway.   According to a viral audio from one of the victims, the armed gunmen numbering up to seven waylaid and attacked the travellers in between the Ilisan, Ceplast industry and Iperu junction axis of the expressway on Friday.   One of the victims of the tragic incident, who was apparently a driver heading to Lagos, told PUNCH that the gunmen stopped their vehicles with sporadic shooting and later marched them into the bush.

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has stated that the Lagos State government has promised to investigate the alleged deportation of youths from the state to Ilesa town.    SaharaReporters had reported how the Nigeria Police Force in conjunction with the Lagos State Task Force packed hundreds of residents and young people from the streets of the state on Friday and dumped them in Osun State.

Gunmen Block Enugu/Abakaliki Road For Over An Hour Despite Army, Police Checkpoints, Injure Several Passengers

Some gunmen in military uniforms laid siege on the Enugu - Abakaliki federal road for about two hours on Monday evening and injured several passengers.   The incident happened between 5 and 6:30pm, SaharaReporters gathered.    SaharaReporters learnt that such attack which has become a regular feature happened about four poles apart from two military checkpoints at Enugu boundary in Idodo, Nkanu East local government area of Enugu State.
