    Agreement documents and payment receipts have shown details of how the immediate past Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, paid school fees for his children including his pre-school child, Zayyan Ali Bello, in advance up to 2034/35. The payments were made to American International School, Abuja (AISA). The documents released to the Federal Capital Territory High Court on December 19, 2023, surfaced on the internet following the ongoing investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) into the activities of Bello as governor.

Nigerian Soldier 'Rushing To Rescue Brother Illegally Arrested By Policemen' Dies In Accident

A soldier of the Nigerian Army, Lcpl Ojo Tope has died in an accident in Ikere Ekiti, Ekiti State, SaharaReporters has gathered. According to multiple sources, the deceased attached to the 322 Artillery regiment in Benin City was on his way to meet policemen who had allegedly arrested his brother illegally. The incident occurred around 10 pm on Wednesday. The policemen attached to Ikere Area Command had reportedly illegally detained Ojo’s brother and after talking to him on the phone, Ojo was asked to come to their checkpoint and identify himself as a soldier.

Amnesty International Raises Alarm, Says Many Victims Of Forced Disappearance In Southeast Nigeria Missing Since 2021

    Global human rights organisation, Amnesty International, has raised an alarm, saying that the whereabouts of many Nigerians who became victims of forced disappearance in the Southeast region of the country between 2021 and 2022 still remain unknown to date.   The organisation also lamented that human rights violations have continued to be on the rise across the country, including the use of excessive force by security forces, the use of brutal torture by the police during interrogations, and forced evictions.

Nigerian Police Arrest Six Suspected Kidnappers In Delta, Recover Firearms, Others

The Nigeria Police Force, Delta State Command, has said that its operatives of a special squad deployed by the Commissioner of Police in the state, Abaniwonda Olufemi, have arrested six suspected kidnappers.   The command which made this known in a statement issued by its Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, on Friday, said that the police squad also rescued three kidnapped victims and recovered several firearms and ammunition.
