But really almost quite simple. but, you know, to echo all of these, points it underscores a much broader point for those who have spent a lot of time around federal courts that yes they re protected, you ve got to go to the and so. on judges don t receive a ton of protection. court houses don t typically receive a ton of protection. and their serve exposed out there. and it s probably something we ought to think about as a nation. beth, the one thing i ve been thinking about is that this indictment really gave us a lot of meat on the bone, some details about what trump had, what he did not really to give back. if you re sitting in the national security apparatus right, now how worried are you that our allies are looking at the situation saying we need to hold off, we just can t trust them at i think the allies already had that view in many ways during the trump administration. i mean, you can just look at polling overseas, popularity, and how happy a lot of foreign
And actually, where trump has a pretty strong piece of support. so, does that complicate the situation? and are people being naive to not worry maybe a little more? i certainly think you need to be worried more about all the reasons we just heard from beth and andy. there are i think to concerns, what the world sees and what we see outside the courtroom. and what we see inside the courtroom. for many people in the world, this is going to be their first vision of what, you know, real american justice looks like, other than, you know, what s portrayed occasionally on tv dramas and so forth. and it s really important that we get this right for two reasons. for the inside the courtroom part, we have to have it right because we know that china, russia, everybody else who s got an agenda out here, is going to be portraying this in ways that will help their own interests. and here in united states, it will feed whatever partisan

Emotional and hard for that family every single minute of this. what does happen next? what can you tell us? well, he will have his first appearance in this courtroom and they are going to give him an opportunity to plead guilty or not guilty. we know from what he was set up in 2010 when he accepted the $25,000 of the $250,000 that they had kelly and the f.b.i. had him set up. he got away out of aruba before he could be charged and went to peru. he know he murdered a woman s life there. today we ll find out whether he pleads guilty or not guilty. but we are way overdue and whatever happens in this, he is 18 years this has been going on, and i praise the family now, beth pushed to get this done.
What the family is saying right now ahead of this? well, i know they are very happy about what has transpired and that van der sloot is here on american soil to be prosecuted. this is a major thing that s happened here that is he is now on american soil and tried by a court in the united states for the crime he committed. and he deserves every minute, after 18 years this family has gone through not to have their daughter present, but again, beth has kept this alive with her foundation and her efforts to bring him here. it has now paid off. sandra: the ambassador to the u.s. says it will enable a process to bring peace to mrs. holloway and her family. we ll watch what happens next with all that. thank you. bill: more controversy inside the classroom as kids struggle to keep up.
The white house says u.s. intelligence indicates iran is providing russia with materials to build a drone manufacturing plant e east of moscow. officials believe the plant could be operational early next year. and the main suspect in the disappearance of an american teenager back in 2005 was in birmingham, alabama today in a courtroom. joran van der sloot is facing charges related to other alleged crimes. correspondent jonathan serrie is in birmingham tonight. it was an emotional day for natalee holloway s family an friends. the missing alabama mother s beth and father dave attended the arraignment of joran van der sloot. one of the last people seen with natalie before thee she disappeared during a high school senior class trip to aruba in 2005. it s just surreal 18 years to the day, almost. and to have joran van der sloot here in natalee holloway s hometown finally to have justice served. it s just surreal.
