Until there was a certification done. interestingly, this was back in 2018. the first dive to the site of the titanic wreckage was in 2021, so this was several years before the titan started making these trips. and also, more recent concerns being raised in the last few days the director of the movie titanicjames cameron, who s also made several more than 30 trips to the titanic wreckage himself. he s been speaking out about similar concerns. so, this is a timeline dating all the way back five years or so, even before the titan was fully operational in terms of going to those depths. and carl, can you bring us date on recovery efforts to pick up the debris of the titan submersible? these recovery efforts are continuing and they re being led by some of these rovs remotely operated vehicles. there is at least one in the area that will continue to scour the ocean floor, some 2.5 miles below

Hopefully will it be able to say precisely why this subfield, what it was about it that led to its destruction, and then of course everybody can have their say about these other issues precisely why this subfield. because they will have the facts in front of them. jonathan, thank you for that. we will head to boston now. the search effort was going on there, but the investigations go on. carl, what hope is there the information gathered now will be enough to find out exactly what went wrong? it is not clear yet out exactly what went wrong? it is not clear yet that out exactly what went wrong? it 3 not clear yet that we will out exactly what went wrong? it 1 not clear yet that we will ever come to a concrete or definitive conclusion about exactly what went wrong, but we do know that this investigation and what they will be looking at will centre on a few different things. in terms of

Understanding the p 3 heard some noises today as well. i want to take an opportunity to invite carl to the podium just to talk little bit he has more expertise in underwater acoustics, maybe just to speak to that in general. again, there are noises below the surface of the ocean, and so i ll just turn it to carl. carl, can you spell your name? yes, c-a-r-l,h-a-r-t-s-f-i-e-l-d. so the ocean is a very complex place. obviously human sounds, nature sounds, and it s very difficult to discern what the source of those noises are at times, but i can tell you that this team has multiple sensors that are in the area. they re sending data back expeditiously to the best in the world people to analyze that data and then they re feeding the results of that analyst back

That time delay is quite extraordinary given, as you were saying that this is the fastest mobilisation. we could see there the map on screen out. newfoundland at the top from where that mobilisation of state of the art equipment was happening from. and there is the distance there. you can see towards the wreck of the titanic. and it just give you some idea of the scale of the distance here involved. carl, is there in boston, for your information. carl, let s come back now. that was interesting about the speed of mobilisation, but i did very rudely cut across it and talk over you. so do carry on. ihla over you. so do carry on. no problem- over you. so do carry on. no problem- it over you. so do carry on. no problem. it is over you. so do carry on. fir: problem. it is interesting just to be able to picture and visualise the skill of these operations because it is such a remote area from where we are in boston. it is 900 miles. these are distances that can be

I know you know this, caitlin, as we ve been covering this, donald trump s moods to change. this is how he s feeling right now. that doesn t mean, as this news sinks in, and in the coming days, he may start to get a little bit more concerned about this. yeah, elena, thank you. he is making its history to become the first former president to face federal charges. anderson, back to you in new york. kaitlan, thanks very much. someone who s witnessed more than a lot of their of bernstein, also his watergate counterpart, cnn contributor and former nixon white house counsel, john dean. carl, what do you make of what we ve heard so far? that this is a very serious matter that the attorney general of the united states has let go forward. merrick garland is a very careful man. and i think that we are going to see, once we see the indictment, what this is about. if it is not a great narrative, that tells something about donald trump and his recklessness, which this case is partly about, playing fast and loose with national security. if that is not demonstrated very quickly, then this can work to the president, former president s advantage. i think what we need to presume that jacks mitt has got his ducks in a row. this is going to be a very long process.

carl, why can t some of these companies grow a backbone on this? well, you just nailed it. i agree with kelly. you have to be all in or all out, and there s a difference between aligning with your core values and then trying to impose them on your on the marketplace. just like kelly said, when a company says these are our core values, we are in alignment with them and we re going to live along with them, then it s fine. the marketplace responds very well. it s when they don t grow the backbone and they re trying to be all things to all people, and not every company and not every product is all things to all people. so from a business standpoint you have to decide on who your ideal client avatar is, your persona or your demographic, as people would say, and then you have to speak directly to them. and that means saying no to some other people, sports leagues, beverage companies. they try to grab everybody.
