Son returned from that cross-country trip. just how involved are they in the potential fallout from this case? well, they have done everything possible to incriminate themselves in the court of public opinion. but in a court of law, it s uncertain, because it s not enough for them to remain silent or lawyer up, to be charged as an accessory after the fact. they would need to know that brian was involved in a crime and then try to cover it up to prevent it punishment or his arrest. and if, in fact, they knew that he committed a crime. and by the way, there s an inference that they knew by the fact that he returned home from this trip without gabby. and they went ahead and sanitized the fan or destroyed evidence or bought him a plane ticket to get out of town, you would see officers walking up their driveway with a shiny new pair of handcuffs. dave aaronberg, thank you very much. there s more information we re following in the ....

Angola. what is the purpose of prison? is it punishment? is it retribution? is it rattle? i think it s got to be all of those things. but mostly it s about safety. right? and the problem is that we ve gone through an era where our politicians and elected officials and judges and prosecutors and too many people in law enforcement only think they re punishing crime. we can t send crimes to prison, we send people to prison. we can t punish a crime, we have to punish a person. when you re only thinking about the crime, it s easy to say, death penalty, life imprisonment without parole, 50 years, 100 years, 300 years. but crimes don t do time, people do. when you start thinking about the people you realize it s more complicated. i believe in accountability. i hate violence. i don t want to create i want to create policies that protect us. i want to intervene when people are a threat to other people. i want to intervene when people are a threat to themselves. i also believe in redemption. ....

Battle of wills. hillary? hi, neil. a lot of these people lined up are in support of this head tax. they said this tax would be fair because they blame the city s biggest job creators for poverty and homelessness in their hometown. big business existing is not incidental to impoverishment in our city and culture. it s the cause of it. corporations are playing a lower tax now than at any time in history. so i don t think i would call it punishment. business as usual means death as usual. if they can t pay, who can? now supporters of this extra tax say the money would be used to build affordable housing. 600 businesses would pay the tax and the plan would bring $75 million in tax revenue to the city. some companies that call seattle home are pushing back hard. ....
