with republicans in wisconsin controlling both houses it's pretty much been easy for governor scott walker to ram through his radical anti-union agenda. that is until now. today big news. the state elections board ordered recall elections for three republican state senators. it's official. they have to go get re-elected by the people. those elections will take place on july 12th. with more recalls still to be decided democrats need to pick up just three seats to gain the majority in the senate. meanwhile results of the hotly contested supreme court race, they have been certified. the elections board declaring the conservative in the race judge david prosser the winner, prosser carved out a narrow victory just over 7,000 votes over joann kloppenberg who has not ruled out additional legal action. i'm not sure what that would be

and the governor, home county, milwaukee county went big for the democrat against one of the governor's top allies in the legislature. republican outagamie county elected a democrat as county executive for the first time ever. then you have the supreme court race that we still don't fully know the outcome with joann kloppenberg 30 points behind with four weeks to go that it comes within a whisker of a vote. so people are catching on and as you indicated, rachel, they hear the foot steps so they are rushing through this legislation with little public notice, with sloppily putting together amendments, changing it from day to day. people don't even know what bills we're considering they change them so rapidly. >> what do you think is going to happen in terms of recall elections in your state? when do you think those will be and what do you think the results will be? >> well, it looks pretty clearly like they'll be in mid july and we feel very confident based on the last couple election cycles we've been through including the special election.

involved in this? >> let's be honest. the department of justice is an extension of the white house. the attorney general is an appointee of the president so in many senses this is a gut check moment for president obama. obviously he doesn't control everything that eric holder does but i would hope that president obama, who has been so hands off with so many of the state struggles not just in wisconsin but ohio, michigan, maine, and other places, would take a serious look at it. this is a time where the federal government is needed. whether joann kloppenberg is being cheated or not, whether david prosser won or not, the fact is that unless there is a federal investigation, unless the department of justice comes into wisconsin, this election will never be seen as a credible election by hundreds of thousands perhaps millions of wisconsinites. and that's just inappropriate. we need the federal intervention and the president should recognize that. >> senator larsen, what about the recall effort? i understand that the republicans are pushing hard to get rid of some of the wisconsin
david prosser and challenger joann kloppenberg you will remember that 14,000 votes were just suddenly found for prosser in waukesha county. state senators tammy baldwin and chris larsen are calling on u.s. attorney general eric holder to get involved. meanwhile governor scott walker, always on the offense, is suggesting that labor is trying to steal the election. >> i think it's pretty clear the big government labor union bosses that have been fighting the reforms in wisconsin now for the past month and a half i don't think are going to give up. they're going to throw out everything here and hope that somehow they can pull off what was pulled off with senator franken in minnesota. >> governor walker will testify on capitol hill this week. congressional democrats should prepare to grill him about his attack on the middle class. but of course it'll be a lot of cheerleading by the republicans as well. then there is the effort to recall state senators in wisconsin. one of the republicans who needs to go is state senator dan
