Indie musician Ariel Pink has been dropped from his label after he confirmed attending the Trump rally that led to the violent attack on the U.S. Capitol.
“Due to recent events, Mexican Summer and its staff have decided to end our working relationship with Ariel Rosenberg AKA Ariel Pink moving forward,” tweeted the New York-based record label Friday.
(As of Monday morning, Pink’s page on the Mexican Summer website was still active.)
The announcement came just a day following Pink’s explanation on Twitter that he had attended the Washington, D.C., rally to “peacefully show my support for the president.”

The indie musician was called out on Twitter by fans this week after an Instagram post showed him, musician John Maus and filmmaker Alex Lee Moyer at a hotel in the city Wednesday.

They are best known for their woozy lyrics and experimental beats, but indie rockers Ariel Pink and John Maus have been caught in a social media crossfire after being pictured at the Trump rally which led to the storming of the US Capitol building.
The duo appeared in an Instagram post by filmmaker Alex Lee Moyer which showed them in a Washington D C hotel room, and was captioned: “The day we almost died but instead had a great time.”
Ariel Pink was also seen in a video by Lee Moyer on the White House lawn, asking her to take a photo of the massed Trump supporters, some of whom seemed brought along a specially decked-out armoured vehicle.
